Boaz Markewitz, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania and received his medical degree from the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He received training in Internal Medicine at Hartford Hospital where he was also Chief Medical resident. He completed a Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the University of Utah. Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined the faculty at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and returned to the University of Utah in 2000.
He currently serves as the Medical Director of both the Department of Respiratory Therapy and the Pulmonary Function Laboratory. His hospital based clinical care is primarily as an attending in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital. His outpatient clinical care focuses on patients with pulmonary hypertension and scleroderma spectrum lung diseases.
