  • Cassidy Campanella, DNP, APRN, ACHPN, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner on the Breast Oncology team at Huntsman Cancer Institute with a focus on Breast Cancer Survivorship.

    Cassidy started her medical career as an EMT working in free clinics around the Salt Lake valley and became a Registered Nurse in 2010 after graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. For the following seven years, she worked as a Nurse and then a Nurse Educator at HCI before returning to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner, suma cum laude from the University of Utah in 2017. From 2017 until 2024 she was on the Supportive Oncology & Survivorship Team (Palliative Care Team) at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) where she worked to help patients manage symptoms and side effects of their cancer and cancer treatments, maintain an acceptable quality of life through their cancer journey, and facilitate compassionate and open communication about their values and goals.

    Certified in Oncology Nursing and a past member of the Clinical Planning Committee and Patient Education Committee, Cassidy has taken an active role in advocating for patients and improving clinical care. She is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health and the Society of Integrative Oncology. Her graduate research was to investigate the effect of Qigong on cancer-related fatigue and quality of life and she strives to take a holistic, integrative approach to caring for her patients. She is passionate about human connection and global health and has lived and worked in communities around the world including India, Uganda, and Thailand. She enjoys traveling, spending time on rivers and in the mountains (especially if with her husband and dog) and gathering her community around the dinner table or a campfire.

    She is helpful and caring. She takes the time to listen to me and go over the items we need to for my care. She is smart is coming up with solutions to help me. She validates what I am doing right. She is a great listener and helps me feel like I can care for myself even by doing small things.
