Dr. Menacho received her undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, and after spending two years volunteering at a rural health clinic in Burkina Faso, West Africa, she went on to get her M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Menacho began her Neurosurgical residence training at the University of Utah. During this time, Dr. Menacho completed an enfolded fellowship in Surgical Critical Care also at the University of Utah. After residency, Dr. Menacho went on to complete a Neurosurgical Oncology fellowship specializing in the care of patients with brain tumors at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Presently, Dr. Menacho is the Vice Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and the Director of the Neuro Critical Care Unit at the University of Utah. She is triple-board certified in Surgical Critical Care, Neurocritical Care, and Neurosurgery. Dr. Menacho has a passion for research and an impressive list of publications focused on exploring ways to improve care and outcomes in patients with malignant brain tumors and traumatic brain injuries. When not working, Dr. Menacho enjoys snowboarding, traveling, spending time with her husband and son, and restoring the family's 1970 Chevy Chevelle.
