Mary C. Murphy, MD

Dr. Murphy is an Emergency Medicine and Palliative Care physician at the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Hospitals. She serves as faculty in the medical school in both the CMC and Doctoring courses. She completed her undergraduate education at Carleton College in 2002, followed by her medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University in 2009. After finishing Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 2012, she practiced as an Emergency Medicine physician in both community and academic settings for nine years before returning to training and completing a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Utah. She is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and belongs to the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Her academic interests include symptom management at the end of life and medical student education.
