Lowell Chang, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah and at the Salt Lake VA Medical Center. He has dual appointments in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and Department of Radiology. He is serving as the Associate Chief of Cardiology at the Salt Lake VA Medical Center.

Dr. Chang earned his BS in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis (2001). He then received his medical degree from Rush University (2005). He trained in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic (2008). He then completed his training in Cardiovascular Medicine (2013) and Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging (2014) at the University of Utah. He has been on faculty at the University of Utah since 2014.

Dr. Chang’s clinical practice covers the management of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions alongside advanced cardiovascular imaging. He has a special interest in cardiovascular imaging including cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac computed tomography. He is involved with the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows, being recognized for these endeavors.
