Dr. Shakoor is a wonderful doctor and an amazing man. It's wonderful to have such a great doctor right here in the Salt Lake Valley. He is always professional and courteous, but he also has a great sense of humor. The people who work for him love him and that says everything. Thank you, Dr. Shakoor, for saving (and improving!) my vision.

Never saw the doctor, therefore, I have no idea the status of my digital images of my eyes. Was told I needed a shot in my bad eye by a technician. Asked whether I wanted Dr. Shakoor or would an intern due. I said the intern was fine. Still no information other than shot and rescheduled! Interestingly, my next appointment was only six weeks away with no explanation as to why! For the past couple of years the time between appointments has been much longer. One was even eight months out. (I remember because I was told they only schedule six months out and I had to call after two months to schedule that appointment.). Suddenly, I'm back to much shorter time between appointments WITHOUT ANY indication of a change in my condition. I did look at my digital images and MY UNPROFESSIONAL opinion was that there was some improvement. Certainly nothing I saw looked as bad as my first ones several years ago! So why no explanation of the appointment compressions?

Dr. Shakoor is head and shoulders above a lot of providers anywhere- he is so calm, understanding and above all , knowledgeable and is not condesending like some providers can be. He treats me, as a patient , but also as an educated person and that is important to me. He also is very,, very good at his surgery and eye care- I can see again, and continue to be able to see thanks to him .He needs to be recognized for it as he is humble about It but also very confident at the same time. I will only let him touch my eyes for injections

I had meet with a fellow first to discuss the results of my in office testing. He was easy to talk with, very knowledgeable and I was confident in his answers to my questions. Dr. Shaboor came in after and he also discussed the results of the in office testing. We really enjoyed his bedside manner in that he was at ease, not in a rush, had a nice sense of humor and would discuss the pros and cons of surgery vs wait and watch approach. He was not pushing surgery at all and suggested in my case we watch and wait and follow up in a few months. I thought this was a reasonable approach. He said if I change my mind or my vision changes before the next scheduled visit, to come in earlier. I felt super comfortable in everything he presented.
