  • Dr. Sarah Cipriano is board certified in Dermatology and sub-specialty boarded in Pediatric Dermatology. Dr. Cipriano cares for pediatric patients with complex medical conditions and devotes a significant amount of time to caring for hospitalized children at Primary Children’s Hospital. She is the co-coordinator of the national Society of Pediatric Dermatology Inpatient Special Interest Group and lectures locally, regionally and nationally. She works closely with pediatric generalists and specialists to delivery high quality and compassionate care. In addition to her general pediatric dermatology clinics, Dr. Cipriano also attends combined pediatric dermatology/rheumatology clinic, multidisciplinary tuberous sclerosis clinic and vascular anomalies clinic. Her interests include infantile hemangiomas and other birthmarks, pigmentary disorders, blistering disorders, psoriasis, acne and atopic dermatitis. She enjoys working with patients from birth through adolescence.

    Dr. Cipriano is the Vice Chair of Education for the University of Utah Department of Dermatology. She is passionate about medical education and remains committed to local and national education efforts. She is the lead dermatology educator at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She is also a small group facilitator for "Layers of Medicine," a longitudinal course designed to help medical students attend to the 'big picture' conceptualization of what medical care means and the broader socio-cultural factors that shape its delivery. Dr. Cipriano was the director of curriculum development for the American Academy of Dermatology Basic Dermatology Curriculum, a publicly available educational resource for medical students and primary care providers. She participates on multiple local and national education committees and was the recipient of the Rising Star in Education Award from the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Cipriano has been instrumental in the Department of Dermatology's commitment to the crucial work of creating a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive academic unit. She was awarded the 2022 School of Medicine Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Award for her work in this area.

    Dr Cipriano is not only a lovely person and has phenomenal bedside manner, but she is exceptionally good at her specialty! She has helped my daughter remedy her severe eczema issues and truly cares about her patients and takes the time to listen, explain and find solutions that make sense for her. My daughter has so many chronic conditions and we have seen so many doctors for various ailments that we truly know how few doctors actually stand out and go above and beyond in their fields. Dr. Cipriano is one of them! We give her 100 stars!! If your child has skin issues, whether minor or severe, we could not more highly recommend Dr. Cipriano!!

    She¿s the best dermatologist and a wonderful person.She¿s been treating my daughter who usted to have a really bad eczema and we couldn¿t find nothing or something to help her,we tried many dermatologist and medication but nothing work until we found Dr. Cipriano. And she started to helped her with her professional care and she¿s a lovely person. My daughter used to have her skin in really bad shape because of the severe eczema but, Dr Cipriano is changing her life no just my daughter but, to us like a desperate parents trying to find some help now my daughter skin is looking like she doesn¿t have no eczema thanks to the medication Dr. Cipriano prescribes and rightawy she make a plan with us. She brings back my daughter confidence, We¿re so blessed to find her and she¿s treating my son¿s eczema too and I don¿t have nothing to say but thank you to Dr. Cipriano and her team they are the best.
