As an Acute Care Surgeon, Jade Nunez’s practice is centered on the surgical care of critically ill and injured patients. He completed his residency and fellowships at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Now an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine, he has taken an academic interest in global surgery. On a recent trip to Mongolia, he served as an instructor in ATLS and laparoscopic courses. The attending was excellent. the resident had a poor bedside manner and did not complete the procedure satisfactorily. Unfortunately the attending left the room while he closed the incision. He should have been able to to do this as he was a third year resident, but the incision continues to leak blood 4 days after the procedure.
