Dr. Melanie Kuechle is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Utah and a founding partner at Puget Sound Dermatology in Edmonds, Washington. She completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, then went on to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for Dermatology Residency and a fellowship in Immunodermatology.

After residency and fellowship, she moved to Seattle, Washington to work with Dr. Beverly Dale who identified and characterized the epidermal protein, profilaggrin. While working with Dr. Dale, Dr. Kuechle was awarded and supported by a Howard Hughes Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for Physicians.

Dr. Kuechle was an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Departments of Medicine (Division of Dermatology) and Pathology from 1999-2007, where she researched the role of enzymatic events in epidermal differentiation. She is currently a partner at Puget Sound Dermatology in Edmonds, Washington.

Dr. Kuechle has a clinical interest in autoimmune skin disorders, including immunobullous disorders, as well as other inflammatory skin disorders. She enjoys challenging diagnostic and therapeutic skin diseases.
