Dr. Slota is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, and Sleep Medicine Program. She received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School (Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science) and completed her neurology residency at Rush University Medical Center, Illinois. She then completed her sleep medicine fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Dr. Slota is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Her primary interests in sleep medicine are to evaluate and to treat sleep disordered breathing and REM sleep behavior disorder (and other parasomnias). Dr. Slota hopes to increase awareness among providers regarding the importance of sleep and the prevalence of its disorders, as well as assist in management.

Given her background in neurology, Dr. Slota is also able to provide further insight into the management of sleep problems in patients with neurologic diseases.

Dr. Slota offers consultative services and clinical assessment for sleep disordered breathing, narcolepsy, insomnia, and parasomnias. She offers diagnoses and management that include the use of polysomnography, multiple sleep latency testing, continuous positive airway pressure, and lifestyle changes.

The doctor I visited with was very good. She asked questions, and was able to piece together a logical plan of action based off what I had answered, and what I had already tried to remedy my situation. I thought the doctor herself was fantastic.
