My comments about this care provider are less than satisfactory, somewhat based on the fact the my two prior providers were exceptional, caring, professionals and I trusted them. This provider seems to barely tolerate me and I'm not sure why, or what I have done, other than I don't do everything she tells me to. For example, she said I needed a mammogram. I told her I do my own exams and I would have one if I felt I needed one. She said "It prevents breast cancer" and I said "it doesn't prevent breast cancer". Then she said what about a pap smear? I usually schedule my pap smear with my provider but since I don't care for her I haven't had her do one. I need to schedule this test with another provider, which I will do. She said "do you want to die of cervical cancer?" I was shocked! At that point I wanted to just leave. I have never been talked to in that manner, ever, at this clinic. I used to love to come to the clinic. I am so disappointed. I might look for another facility and provider for my care. She has been cordial enough with emails, etc. So on paper she looks good but IF or When I come in again I want another clinic employee in the room with us to monitor her behavior.

So I went in for a routine check up on the status of my hiv. I was concerned about a weight gain and mood change. I asked about my hormone levels and getting them checked. She not only agreed and explained it to me. She also suggested getting my thyroid checked just to be sure and explained how that could effect the weight change. She was very informative and kind.
I did not feel comfortable at all during this appointment. I did not feel as though the provider wanted to listen or was concerned about me rather than to regurgitate information. I felt there was no empathy and was almost rude in questioning me. Requesting for a new care provider for future appointments.
PA-C Alva Trejo is a SAINT.Young and fairly new to practice but WISE and Intelligent... Her opinion matters to me.
