As a hospitalist, her research interests include point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and Global Health. With over 20+ published peer-reviewed articles and multiple regional and national conference presentations, among her top priorities is to further develop the academic aspect of medicine, especially within the field of POCUS.

    Dr. Perez Sanchez received her MD from Universidad Central de Venezuela. She was trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where she received the Outstanding Intern of the Year Award and Outstanding House Staff Spirit Award. In the past, Dr Perez served as Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received the Rookie Physician of the Year Award.
