Erica J. Farr, PAC is very professional and approachable. I was relaxed and confidant during what could have been a very painful biopsy. Her explanation before the procedure and then a step by step description of what she was doing during the procedure eliminated surprises (as well as fear) during the surgery. I felt I was her key focus while in her (and her team's) care and that I received the best possible care.
She listened to our concerns and explained everything thoroughly
I was expecting Hillary Davis, so this was a good change and she was easy to talk with and I'll hopefully see her next January.
It is impossible to know how much she knows about body/health and cancer.

Professional but with a calm, caring demeanor. She understood that this procedure was stressful for me and made sure I understood what was going to happen. She explained everything carefully and told me what to expect at every step. She told me when there was going to be any change in what she was doing so I knew what was happening and when. No surprises. Give her an A+ and also one to her assistant. Sorry but I don't remember the name of the gentleman who assisted but he helped me relax before Erica came in. I was a nervous wreck but he was a big help and calmed my nerves with what you may call menial talk but was greatly appreciated by me.

She recommended we add a prescription which we really appreciated. She indicated the medication could be taken in addition to my current medication, but the pharmacist filling the prescription stressed the new prescription should REPLACE the former one, not in addition to. Confused I have tried unsuccessfully to reach the office to clarify this.
Erica was extremely professional and personable. Treated me as if I were the only patient in the practice. Gave me all the time I wanted.
Erica is wonderful. She is polite, engaging, and knowledgeable. I was worried what might happen to me if my PSA suddenly rose, and she was very thorough in explaining the process that we would take at that point and helping me to understand what might actually happen to my PSA levels versus someone who has had no treatment and/or ignored their follow-up.

My experience over the past 6 years has been excellent. There has been no problems getting the care needed. You have been on top of the issues that have needed to be addressed without any fooling around or delays. My treatment has been taken seriously and attentively and very timely. I have referred at least two patients to your clinic Thank you got your great care to me.
He outlined carefully what the impact of the T-3A condition had regarding my previous surgery and chances of a relapse. He outlined what the strategies would be if there was a relapsed when I requested those answers.

PA Farr is an exceptional professional and very personable. It is always a pleasure to see her come through the door into the exam room.
The doctor was very nice I just prefer a male doctor dealing with my husbands prostate exams, and my husband totally agrees. It's obviously a very invasive procedure and I have no doubt that the female doctor absolutely knows what she is doing. Just a personal preference, no reflection in the doctors care.

I have been to Huntsman 3 times (for the same issue) and have only seen the physician I was referred to once for about 5 minutes. I have seed 3 different PA's, each one time. They've all been very nice. But I do feel that my cancer diagnosis is not being given any continuity of care. I have had to re-orient each PA to my history, feelings about treatment, etc. I get better care from my Primary Care Provider in the sense that I feel comfortable I have one provider who knows me and is looking out for me. Definitely considering looking for other options, even though the care decisions themselves are fine and the people are nice. This is MY cancer, and though it may be unexciting to the Huntsman clinic (and thank goodness, I suppose!), I'm not sure I feel comfortable with this style of care.
Would highly recommend them.

She was courteous and I am grateful that she took a few minutes to show me the mass in my prostate. I think she assumed that I was planning to proceed with treatment after the biopsy; however, I haven't been given any information by providers about my eventual treatment options. I am still not sure whether I want to pursue some of the potential treatment options. I really want to talk with a cancer specialist in order to explore my options. Both PA-C providers are probably very good at doing biopsies. However, I mostly want some information. The only information that I currently have was obtained by searching articles in PubMed. Ms. Farr said I needed to get the biopsy before I was assigned a cancer team. She also dismissed my concerns that a biopsy might result in some circulating tumor cells. Ultimately, we seemed to get frustrated with each other. I am sorry that I wasted her time. However, I think this could have been avoided if I initially received more education.
I was scared to come in for the procedure and she and the tech were both great about alleviating my concerns. It went better than I expected.

Erica and her crew were absolutely fantastic! The procedure was very uncomfortable, but Erica talked to me and explained what was being done and she encouraged me by telling I was doing a good job. I think Erica is one of the best providers I've come in contact with the U of U in quite a while. Whatever you are paying her, it's not enough.
I can not say enough good things about Erica Farr. She is one of the most caring PA's I've had the pleasure of talking to. She was direct in answering all of my concerns and questions, yet she did not allow my fears and concerns to get in the way of her doing what needed to be done. Erica kept certain things (needle size and number of needle sticks, etc) from my view to keep my fears as minimized as possible. Erica is the best.
