  • I received my medical degree in Guatemala at the Universidad Francisco Marroquin School of Medicine, I then completed my Pediatric Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and my Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Utah. Following fellowship I completed a Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital.

    My clinical interests include the care of children and young adults with primary immune deficiencies, hematologic malignancies, bone marrow failure and hemoglobinopathies who require a hematopoietic stem cell transplant. My research interests are focused on primary immune deficiencies and cellular therapies as well as health disparities research.
