Haley is originally from Phoenix, Arizona. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder, where she studied biochemistry, neuroscience, and molecular biology. She received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago before moving to Salt Lake City for her pediatrics residency training.
