Dr. Engel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in Public Health. She spent her gap years working as an inpatient pediatric mental health specialist before completing her medical degree at the University of Louisville. Her medical interests include women’s health, obstetrics, trauma-informed care, rural medicine, and behavioral health. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, painting, going to concerts, thrifting, and trying new restaurants. She chose the University of Utah for the outstanding faculty, emphasis on resident wellness, and unique training on navigating parent-child relationships. She is very excited to get to live and work in a beautiful and vibrant new city.
