Karla F. Vázquez De Jesús, MD, MBA

Dr. Karla F. Vázquez De Jesús received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts and Nevis and her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Davenport University in Michigan. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas, where she also served as Chief Resident. She went on to complete her Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine.

She is board-certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Vázquez De Jesús is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and a Pediatric Emergency Physician at Primary Children’s Hospital. Her academic and clinical interests include pediatric emergency medicine, simulation-based medical education, and quality improvement initiatives.

As a native Spanish speaker, she is dedicated to reducing language and cultural barriers in healthcare and helping Spanish-speaking children and families feel understood and supported during emergency care.
