  • Dr. Schott received her medical degree from University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an intern year in Psychiatry at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, PA, her Psychiatry residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Northwestern University-Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. She has previously worked at Denver Health, Children’s National in DC, and the Cleveland Clinic. She currently maintains adjunct faculty status at George Washington University in DC where she continues to teach medical students. Dr. Schott is board-certified in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

    Dr Schott is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. She serves as the Medical Director of Crisis Services at the Primary Children’s Taylorsville Behavioral Health Center. Her interests include emergency psychiatry, addiction, medical education, psychotherapy, advocacy, and quality improvement. Dr Schott has completed multiple psychotherapy certificate trainings and quality improvement training programs. She has also completed leadership development programs through the Physician’s Foundation and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

    Dr Schott has become an advocate in the community serving committees at the local and national levels. She currently serves on committees through American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), Academy of Consult Liaison Psychiatrists (ACLP), American Association for Emergency Psychiatry (AAEP), Association for Academic Psychiatry (AAP), the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry (ADMSEP), the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsA) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA). She has been active in her state medical society and in the American Medical Association (AMA). She has also served on various diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committees.

    Dr Schott is a distinguished fellow through AACAP and fellow through APA. She was awarded AACAPs Psychodynamic Faculty Initiative (PsyFi) award. In addition, she was awarded the APA’s Nancy CA Roeske MD Certificate of Recognition for Excellence in Medical Student Education.
