Dr. Trevor J. Laborda received his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed his General Pediatrics residency at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition fellowship at the University of Utah/Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Dr. Laborda additionally completed a combined adult/pediatric postdoctoral Interventional Endoscopy fellowship through Baylor College of Medicine in affiliation with the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Laborda is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He is currently 1 of only 20 providers in the country who offer pediatric interventional endoscopy expertise.

Dr. Laborda is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Utah. His main role within the division and throughout the Intermountain West Region is to provide expertise in endoscopic and clinical management of patients with complex hepatobiliary, pancreatic and luminal diseases. He developed and founded the Primary Children’s Hospital Interventional Endoscopy Program and the Pancreas Center which provides continuity of care for these patients. He practices in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology and Nutrition at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Laborda specializes in advanced endoscopic procedures, including:

  • endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
  • luminal stenting
  • luminal dilations
  • enteroscopy
  • management of luminal vascular malformations
  • endoscopic mucosal resection
