Zack J. Gibson, DO

Dr. Zack (Gibby) Gibson is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine in the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Utah. He received his undergraduate degree at Weber State University in Medical Laboratory Sciences followed by his medical degree from A.T. Still University—Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville Missouri. His interest in medicine originates from the love of human anatomy and physiology and connecting with people from all walks of life.

He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Arizona—Tucson and his Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center/Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

His academic interests include pediatric airway management, community ER pediatric readiness and education of nurses, medical students, residents and fellows with simulation and other innovative learning methods. He works clinically at Primary Children’s Hospital Salt Lake City and Lehi Campuses, the University of Utah Hospital and Common Spirit Holy Cross Hospital—Salt Lake.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, hiking, fishing, crafting cocktails and cooking new recipes.
