For many people, warm weather means flip-flops, sandals, and bare feet. But if you’re heading to a salon for a pampering pedicure, don’t leave with more than you bargained for. “Infections after manicures and pedicures, including bacterial infections and athlete’s foot, can occur if certain precautions are not taken,” says Erika Summers, MD, a dermatologist at University of Utah Health.
