Snacks are an important part of a healthy diet. However, you need to choose the right ones. Too many have lots of sugar, fat, and salt. Here are some good options.

Healthy Snacks

Fruit

Grabbing an apple or banana is an easy snack when you are on the go. If you have more time, prep small containers or baggies with grapes or berries. Dried fruit is also an option if spoiling is a concern for you.

Veggies

Baby carrots and celery sticks are easy to pair with your favorite protein packed dip such as hummus or peanut butter.

Nuts and Seeds

Opt for those that are unsalted or lightly salted to avoid high amounts of unwanted sodium.

Edamame

These little beans are a great plant based protein source and can be seasoned any way you like!

Hard Boiled Eggs

These are a great grab and go breakfast option as well as a snack. Make a dozen ahead of time for a quick fix.

Yogurt

Look for low-fat options. Be sure to read the nutrition facts to avoid added sugars.

String Cheese

A delicious and easy snack to grab. Look for reduced fat versions.

Cottage Cheese

The possibilities are endless here! Add fruit, veggies, or whatever toppings you like.

Popcorn

This yummy snack is a whole grain! Look for air popped options with no or little butter and salt.

Rice Cakes

Another way to enjoy popcorn and they come in all kinds of flavors.
