Your Gift Matters

Thank you for your support of Huntsman Mental Health Institute.

With generous seed money from the Huntsman family, we have started our journey to becoming a premier mental health institute.

This will only possible with private financial support from friends and donors like you.

Contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations allow us to continue and grow our compassionate mental health treatment and care for children, adolescents, and adults. Donations support faculty in recruiting and training residents, interns, and fellows each year to bring the best and brightest clinicians to Utah.

By funding research efforts to better understand the brain and more effectively treat mental illness, donations are helping relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for current and future patients and their families.

β€œIt is past time to change the stigma and misperceptions about mental health.”

Areas of Need

Other Ways to Give

Endowments

An endowment is a permanent source of financial support to maintain recognized excellence in HMHI’s research, education, and community missions. An endowed gift can be named and is an excellent way of honoring someone important to you.

Endowed faculty positions are particularly powerful incentives for attracting and retaining exceptional physicians and scientists and, consequently, raising the visibility of the department and the university.

Endowed gifts are invested by the university to generate annual income, and a portion of the income is used to fulfill the donor's wishes. The balance of interest and the appreciation remain in the fund so that the principle continues to grow and keep pace with inflation.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please use this online tool or you can contact your employer's human resources department directly.

Memorial and Honor Gifts

Many opportunities exist to make gifts to the Huntsman Mental Health Institute in memory of or to honor a loved one.

Securities and Property Gifts

Individuals who transfer stock or property can receive tax deductions and avoid capital gains. As always, consult your tax advisor before transferring stocks, bonds, or property.

Pledges

A pledge can be paid over three to five years. This allows the donor to commit to a larger gift amount while enjoying the tax benefits of the actual amount given in a specific calendar year.

Leave a Legacy

For some of our donors, an outright gift is not the best option. Planned gifts can offer significant estate-tax and income benefits, while at the same time allowing donors to make larger gifts to the Institute than would be otherwise possible.

This option enables you to leave a portion of your estate to the Huntsman Mental Health Institute through your will, your trust, or your life insurance policy. For more information on planned gifts, visit Planned Giving.

Making a Gift

When transferring your funds, you may choose to make a single gift, spread your contributions over a period of time, or choose a deferred giving option. Consider the choices below or download and print our giving form.
