Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program

Mental health intensive outpatient program for adults

Often, people find it challenging to navigate their daily responsibilities such as work, school, or parenting while dealing with underlying mental health issues. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adults (age 18+) is designed to offer a treatment option for those individuals who need additional structure and support while they work to improve well-being and build coping skills to support long-term recovery.

For adults who lead busy lives but need more support than traditional outpatient care provides, the IOP offers a focused and flexible approach. This program delivers intensive therapy within a shorter timeframe, helping participants receive the care they need while balancing other commitments. After completing the program, individuals are guided as they transition to a lower level of outpatient care, supporting continued progress on their path to recovery.

What to Expect from Our Intensive Outpatient Program

When you reach out to us for the first time, we’ll talk with you about your goals and what you hope to gain from treatment. After this initial conversation, we’ll schedule a free, one-hour assessment to help determine if our Intensive Outpatient Program is the right fit for your needs. Assessments are virtual or can be by phone.

Our outpatient team works closely with each participant, providing one-on-one support to create a personalized treatment plan. We check in every two weeks to review your progress and adjust your goals as needed, making sure your care stays focused on what matters most to you. In addition, we offer expressive therapies led by licensed professionals, including music therapy, recreation therapy, and art therapy.

Real stories from our patients

  • [media-entity-reference:media-alt]

“I spent years thinking that if I just do the next big thing in life, I would be happy. I thought I deserved to feel unhappy. I could not have been more wrong. Deciding to get treatment was scary at first and I was skeptical as to whether I would learn from it. I thought I understood my emotions, but the Adult Mental Health IOP taught me how to deal with them. I learned how to label my feelings and how they affected my actions. Being able to learn ways to cope and accept my emotions was life changing. I now feel like I deserve a life with meaning and purpose. I now have tools to help me in my hardest moments. I am ready for my future, and I have better tools for coping when things in life get hard. Being a part of the Adult Mental Health IOP was the best decision I have ever made for myself.”

“I was hospitalized 3 months before starting my IOP program. Over the three months I went through various levels of full-time treatment. Even after full-time treatment for 3 months this IOP program was able to help me in new and valuable ways. In the Adult Mental Health IOP program, I had enough weekly support and structure to safely step back into my life and start working again after 3 months away. The staff, peers, and structure of this IOP gave me the space I needed to practice and process all the road bumps and all the successes that came with stepping back into my life. I ran into no issues showing up fully as myself in group, which I know was critical to my own personal recovery. I’m very grateful for the help I got through this program.”
