Huntsman Cancer Institute with the Beacon of Hope lit in rainbow coors

In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride month, Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) will illuminate the Beacon of Hope in rainbow colors this weekend.

Each day, we strive to create an environment where everyone who enters HCI feels safe, comfortable, and respected. We are committed to advancing hope and healing for all affected by cancer, including our LGBTQ+ patients, friends, families, and community.

We are grateful to our community partners – including Equality Utah and the Utah Pride Center – who work to educate, advocate, and advance equality and equity for all Utahns. Today and every day, we are proud to celebrate these values and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ staff, faculty, and patients.

The Beacon of Hope is visible each night across the Salt Lake valley to honor the contributions, humanity, and vision of Jon M. Huntsman and symbolize HCI’s goal to eradicate cancer from the face of the earth.
