Dear Patients and Staff,

Every day in urologic surgical oncology, we are invited into some of the most private and challenging moments of a person's life. As a physician assistant in this field, I am consistently reminded of the extraordinary weight and beauty of the work we do together.

For me, this work is deeply personal. Having lost both my mother and a close friend to cancer, I understand firsthand the fear, heartache, and uncertainty that families face when navigating a diagnosis. Because of these losses, this field holds a truly special place in my heart. It gives me profound purpose to know that, through surgical intervention, we have the powerful opportunity to treat and often cure many of these cancers, offering families the hope and time that are so incredibly precious.

In our clinic and procedure rooms, conversations naturally turn to deeply personal and sensitive aspects of life. Our patients share their fears, their vulnerabilities, and intimate details about their bodies and health. This information is a profound privilege to hold. We never take for granted that you—our patients—entrust us with these private pieces of your lives.

To our patients: Thank you for your trust. It is the anchor of our practice. We pledge to continue meeting your vulnerability with the highest level of clinical excellence, absolute discretion, and unwavering compassion.

To our staff: Thank you for your dedication. It is your empathy and professionalism that turn a daunting clinical environment into a sanctuary of healing and hope. Every day, you protect the dignity of those we treat.

Together, we face these complex diagnoses not just with medical science and ongoing research, but with a shared human connection that provides the true foundation for healing.

With deepest gratitude and hope,
Lisa Chapman, PA-C
