Going the Distance in a Race with Prostate Cancer

On and off-road motorcycles, fuel dragsters, hydroplane boats, sail boats, power boats, bicycles, and now cars: J.R. Smith has raced all of these. After a cancer diagnosis in 2019, he decided to use that racing experience for a cause. He formed Team Fight Cancer with several other cancer patients. Their mission? To inspire others and demonstrate how teamwork and support help cancer survivors make the most of their lives.

Research Advancing Individualized Treatment for Metastatic Prostate Cancers

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer for men in the United States. About one man in nine will be diagnosed with the disease at some point in his life. A study recently published in The Lancet’s EBioMedicine Journal describes new insights into how unique genetic traits of metastatic prostate tumors that are shed into the blood of cancer patients can be used for applying to the care of and potential molecularly targeted treatments in individual patients.
