Huntsman Cancer Institute's Hematology Program treats a wide variety of hematological conditions.

Hematological Cancers

  • Acute leukemias, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute myelomonocytic leukemia (AMML), and acute promyelocytic leukemia (APML)
  • Amyloidosis
  • Castleman's disease
  • Chronic leukemias such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML)
  • Lymphomas (Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, including B-cell and T-cell lymphomas)
  • Monoclonal gammopathies
  • Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS)

Benign Hematological Disorders

  • Autoimmune-induced disorders such as hemolytic anemia, Evan's syndrome, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), and sarcoidosis
  • Bleeding or clotting disorders
  • Iron metabolism disorders such as hemochromatosis and porphyria
  • Mastoctytosis, including systemic mastocytosis
  • Metabolic disorders such as Gaucher disease
  • Myeloproliferative disorders such as polycythemia vera, essential thrombocytosis, and myelofibrosis
  • Pancytopenia
  • Plasma cell and antibody production disorders (benign monoclonal gammopathy [MGUS], cryoglobulinemia, and amyloidosis)
