Lymphoma Program

Inpatient Hematology Unit

Lymphoma patients that require hospitalization stay in the Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit located on the fourth floor of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital.  The state-of-the-art inpatient unit at HCI has 25

HCH Patient Room

rooms dedicated to caring for lymphoma and other blood cancer patients.  Each of the unit's rooms feature Huntsman Cancer Hospital’s trademark comforts and conveniences:

  • Beautiful views of the mountains or valley,
  • Attractive décor,
  • A private bathroom,
  • A sofa bed for a family member to spend the night,
  • Wireless connectivity, and
  • a TV and DVD player.

The rooms are specially designed to meet the needs of lymphoma patients, whose immune systems are severely compromised.  High doses of chemotherapy or radiation treatment destroy the cells that create infection-fighting white blood cells. That means lymphoma patients have a much lower ability to fight even common bacteria or viruses. Rooms in Huntsman Cancer Hospital's Inpatient Unit feature high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration and more air exchanges per hour to provide the cleanest air possible.
