Nurse Manager

Located on the fifth floor of the cancer hospital, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) serves patients who require more intensive observation or care than expected in a general nursing unit. The ICU is a mixed medical and surgical unit that provides care to cancer patients during all phases of their care, especially when they present with altered cardiac or respiratory function and hemodynamic instability. With a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, health care assistants, pharmacists, dietitians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and case managers, the ICU provides collaborative, effective, and personalized care.

Work in the ICU requires managing a challenging level of acuity and critical thinking. Every nurse in the unit has completed critical care courses and has advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.

The ICU offers care to the most critically ill patients in a state-of-the-art facility.
