Cancer Health Equity

Cancer health disparities occur when different races, ethnicities, and population groups have higher rates of cancer diagnoses and cancer deaths than other groups. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) explains more about cancer health disparities in the video below.

The Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah is committed to reducing cancer health disparities in the Mountain West and has received funding from the NCI’s Geographical Management of Cancer Health Disparities (GMaP) Program. This program aims to promote research and training in cancer health disparities.
