Nationally Acclaimed Surgeon, Educator to Address 21st Century Medicine at Wintrobe Lecture

"Medicine in the 21st Century" will be the topic for the first Dr. and Mrs. Maxwell M. Wintrobe Lectureship scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m.

Sponsored by the Wintrobe family and the U of U School of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine, the lecture will be given by Haile T. Debas, M.D., executive director of Global Health Sciences. He is also dean emeritus University of California at San Francisco medical school and vice chancellor emeritus for medical affairs. He was the president of the American Surgical Association in 2001-2002 and served as chair of the Council of Deans of the Association of American Medical Colleges from 2002-2003.

The lecture will be held in the Eccles Institute of Human Genetics auditorium and will be followed by a reception.
