U of U Names Richard W. Kendall, D.O, Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Richard Kendall(SALT LAKE CITY)—Richard W. Kendall, D.O., a 10-year faculty member who focuses on the pain management in the neck and spine, has been named Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

 Kendall, an associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, joined the School of Medicine in 2002. He received his doctor of osteopathy degree from the Des Moines University and served his residency, including chief residency, at the University of Washington medical school. Following that, he completed a fellowship at the University of Michigan.

 Certified by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Kendall is a subspecialist in pain management. He focuses on rehabilitation treatments and the diagnosis of back and neck pain using interventional spine procedures, electrodiagnostic testing, and therapies. He is particularly interested in neck and back pain in cyclists and triathletes, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

 Kendall served as interim chief of physical medicine and rehabilitation before his permanent appointment.
