Home Sleep Study

This video is a step-by-step process to assist you in applying and properly using home sleep study testing equipment. We’ll show you the easiest and most effective ways to apply this type of equipment, starting with the base station and ending with how to complete the bedtime and morning questionnaires. (We provide these questionnaires for all our patients doing home sleep studies.)

Although we provide instructions with the device itself, this video can also help you prepare to take the sleep study.

In-Lab Sleep Study

To prepare for an in-lab or in-clinic sleep study, we’ve prepared this video to help you. It discusses how to use PAP equipment if your study uses these. It also covers how to apply the electrode or leads and how technologists will use these to effectively monitor and evaluate your sleep and breathing.

The video will also show you the bedtime process after you are hooked up to the equipment and what to expect in the morning – from equipment removal to wake up time. This is a great resource to help you prepare for your in-lab sleep study.

Sleep Mask Fitting

This video shows you a brief overview of various CPAP mask styles. CPAP mask styles include:

  • nasal pillow,
  • nasal, and
  • full face masks.

The video also includes some pros and cons of each mask style.

We will also show you how to appropriately fit these masks while sitting up and the mask fit when you are laying down in bed. We recommend you use a chin strap for internasal and nasal masks, which we provide, and explain why you may need use a chin strap.

We recommend you have your user manual for each mask. You can contact the company that made the mask if there is new or recurring issue. Finally we show you how to clean your mask and recommend how to properly maintain mask equipment for the best function and efficiency.

ResMed S9 CPAP Comfort Settings

Learn about your CPAP comfort settings in this video. These include:

  • humidity,
  • heated tubing, and
  • ramp time.

We will give you a brief description of these settings and their effects as well as how to navigate the device menu in order to change these settings.

We recommend that you evaluate the settings on your CPAP over a several day period to get the best benefits from them. You should also reach out to the company that created your equipment if you have issues with the functionality. The owner’s manual is also a helpful resource.

ResMed S10 CPAP Comfort Settings

There is a variation between masks S9 and S10 ResMed devices. This video discusses these differences. For example, with the S10 models you will need to turn “Climate Control” options from “Automatic” to “Manual” in the menu to adjust climate controls.
