University of Utah Healthcare is investing in the technology and creating the infrastructure to bring our patients the best health care possible.

The 2010 Information Technology Strategic Plan (ITSP) was developed under six guiding principles that were created to serve as a guide for the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics in order to make information technology initiative and investment decisions. They are the broad philosophy that will guide our technological direction throughout the life of the plan, irrespective of changes in goals, tactics, projects or leadership. The links on the side of this website beginning with patient experience and ending with IT Department represent the planning themes and express the future-state experiences of our patients, clinicians and workforce. The main elements of the 2010 ITSP are summarized within each planning theme, the abridged version of the plan can be downloaded in pdf form here. The complete 2010 ITSP is linked to the section titled "Full IT Strategic Plan" which includes the full content of each planning theme and all supporting documentation for the creation of the plan.

“Harnessing our Potential“

It is our shared intention to pursue a course of continued collaboration in our belief that the whole of our Health Sciences Center is greater than the sum of its parts; we can much better reach our goals through an integrated approach. Together, great achievements can be realized.
