Treating Patients With Heart Failure

For patients whose hearts are damaged or diseased and can’t support enough blood flow throughout the body, we offer mechanical circulatory support (MCS). MCS uses a ventricular assist device (VAD), which is designed to provide short- or long-term cardiac support.
VAD therapy, along with heart transplantation, is the most advanced surgical treatment option for heart failure.
Our program is also a pioneer in mechanical circulatory support and ventricular assist devices. As a center of excellence, we actively investigate new devices for supporting the circulation of a failing heart as well as developing innovative alternatives to, or as a bridge to, heart transplants.
We have the expertise and resources to care for a patient before and after surgery and throughout their life.
