Bio

Jan E. Baker, MS, APRN is a research/clinical Nurse Practitioner at the University of Utah. She has 20 years experience in the non-surgical treatments of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. She also has 20 years of experience performing specialized bladder testing procedures. She recently received funding to study the effects of mindfulness (meditation) on the treatment of urge urinary incontinence. Her research, as principal investigator and coinvestigator, has focused on treatment of pelvic floor disorders, management of overactive bladder, and stress urinary incontinence.

Ms. Baker received a master of science degree in psychosocial nursing and a family nurse practitioner certification from the University of Utah. She is a certified family nurse practitioner and continence care nurse, and a licensed advanced practice registered nurse. Her personal interests include hiking in the mountains and redrock deserts of southern Utah. She also skis and enjoys biking. Her hobbies include making jewelry and crafts of any kind.
