Rosemary Conder, NP

Rosemary Conder is a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. She is currently working at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Prior to this, she held a position working in Hematology and Oncology, in the community. Although her main area of interest is breast cancer, she has expertise in all areas of hematology and oncology.
Ms. Conder earned her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Utah in 2002, through the Family Nurse Practitioner program. Prior to working as a Nurse Practitioner, Conder worked as a health care provider since 1983, as a Registered Nurse. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She was inducted into the Nursing Honor Society, Golden Key Club, during her master’s program. She was the recipient of the Helene Fuld Leadership Grant. Ms. Conder was nominated by the University of Utah faculty to participate in the Senior Vice Presidents’ Interdisciplinary Leadership Forum in Health Sciences representing Masters prepared nursing students as a nursing leader. Prior to working as a Nurse Practitioner, Conder worked as a health care provider since 1983, as a Registered Nurse. Her master’s project focused on “Leadership in Nursing” when she coordinated a seminar at the University of Utah College of Nursing about the importance of health policy participation. Rosemary worked with former Senator Paula Julander on Women’s Healthcare Legislation in the 2002 Legislative Session. She had a publication accepted in Utah Nurse, in July 2012, “Leadership in Nursing”.
Rosemary was the co-coordinator of an educational series and later a support group for women with newly diagnosed metastatic cancer. She and a colleague also facilitated a system of patient referral for genetic counseling and testing for cancer patients. She is a past member of the Institutional Review Board at the University of Utah, as well as St. Mark’s Hospital. She is currently a member of the Ethics Committee at the University of Utah.
Preceding her advanced degree, she practiced as an RN working in various settings including Medical/surgical, ICU, Operating Room as well as developing a Hospice Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the University of Utah Infectious Disease team representing University Home Health with Dr. Kristen Ries and other physicians, social workers and community leaders, coordinating care for HIV patients in the Salt Lake Valley. Ms. Conder has been a preceptor at the University of Utah College of Nursing, as well as the University of Pennsylvania.
Rosemary currently practices with Dr. John H. Ward, who serves as a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network on the Breast Cancer advisory board. Although they have a focus on breast cancer, Dr. Ward and Ms. Conder see patients with many malignancies and hematologic diagnoses. Their practice is involved in a number of clinical trials that they can offer their patients.
