Dan Crouse, PA-C, MPAS, is a nationally certified physician assistant. He is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. He graduated from the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program in 1981 and later received his masters degree from University of Utah in Physician Assistant Studies. Dan started working for the PA Program in 1994 as the Clinical Coordinator. Later he became the Academic Director then Associate Program Director. In 2010 he became the Program Director and in 2014 he stepped down as Program Director to pursue other interest. He is presently the Director of Clinical Evaluation in the Division of Physician Assistant Studies and working clinically at the South Main Family Practice Clinic.
Dan has been involved in global health since 2004, when he took the first group of PA and Public Health students to Thailand for a 4 week elective rotation. Students take classes in public health, tropical diseases and work side by side with the primary care providers at a free clinic on the Burma border in Northern Thailand. Most of the patients are Burmese migrant workers or displaced persons that come into Thailand to work or to obtain health care.
