Bio

Susan Sanderson, FNP, DNP. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Utah in 1996 specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Utah graduating in 2010. She has been in clinical nursing practice since 1992 in various settings including general medical/surgical unit, intensive care unit, and family practice.

She has been a clinical nurse practitioner at the University of Utah School of Medicine since August, 1999. She was a member of the bone marrow transplant team in direct care of pediatric and adult bone marrow transplant patients until December, 2004.

Dr. Sanderson joined the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases in 2004 as the infectious disease outpatient nurse practitioner. Her clinical practice is focused on the evaluation and treatment of children with acute and chronic infections. She manages patients on the pediatric infectious disease service who require outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy. She has a special interest in the management and care of pediatric patients with HIV.
