August 30, 2016

He called me with extra information that was awesome!!

August 26, 2016

Mr. Ensign has a great "bedside" manner. He is very congenial and expresses concern and care for his patients.

July 26, 2016

Ensign, PA was extremely experienced and knowledgeable regarding my upcoming procedure and the consultation. He provided both detailed explanations and literature assuring all of my questions were answered. He was also very personable and respectful.

July 18, 2016

the doctor seemed really rushed I would have liked couple of minutes alone to ask some questions

June 29, 2016

It's a pleasure to recommend anyone at the "U-med."

June 28, 2016

This doctor was wonderful!! I was finally heard after months of going fro doctor to doctor looking for an answer. I have one answered now and he has also referred me to a great Dr in the same facility! im so excited about the daybreak staff and facility! I dont want to go anywhere else!

June 27, 2016

DR wrote a prescription with refills was not clear on when to take it an refills

June 01, 2016

One of the kindest providers I have ever been too. Plus a great doctor.

May 31, 2016

I only wish I had been warned of the possible pain I could experience due to the stent removal. My drive home was extremely painful and because I was driving I could not take my pain medication. I know all outcomes cannot be predicted. I have had many stents removed and never had this experience of severe pain before. So I don't blame the doctor. It was just unfortunate.

May 17, 2016

Very thorough, interesting. pleasant considering the nature of the exam. interesting to watch screen :)

May 12, 2016

doctor didn't really explain to me what was going on, didn't even tell me what I should do if it starts to hurt again. didn't give me the run down of what it could possibly be, didn't suggest any medication nothing what's so ever. really disappointed, I chose the U hospital cause I thought I would get good treatment or at least a good run down of what was going on with me. I wouldn't recommend the U to go for a urologist.

April 29, 2016

He could not find the stents the first time. He sent us to get an xray. Second time, he went in the wrong place, then finally found them. My daughter was hurting, but he just seemed to be trying to get the job done.

April 21, 2016

The PA was in a hurry, didn't answer questions well, and most disturbing his exam was short and limited. Beside coming in for testicle pain I was concerned about prostrate issues since prostrate cancer runs in my immediate family and I have an enlarged prostrate. He told me that if I wanted my prostrate checked that I needed to go to my general care physician and have him check it out. Why did I come to a specialist in the first place? I was very unhappy with the whole experience. I have seen dozens and dozens of Doctors because of a severe neuropathy and so I believe I'm a pretty good judge of how a good Physician treats his patient. I have an apt tomorrow for another procedure so we'll see how this one goes.

March 30, 2016

Craig Ensign was amazing!

March 25, 2016

Great experience with Craig Ensign

March 24, 2016

after exam provider offered no solutions or way to get rid of the pain and discomfort.

March 14, 2016

For several years, I have received the BEST care from Both Dr. Middleton (Retired), and Dr. Southwick Moved out of the country) I was assigned?? to a PA for care, which I feel was a poor choice. I hope there are MD's also in the clinic. For the care I received, I could have stayed home. A waste of my time and Insurance money.

March 03, 2016

I like Craig Ensign but I was not informed about potential pain issues which caused me to end in the ER later that afternoon. An understanding of potential issues with ureter spasms and how to treat them would have been very helpful

February 28, 2016

Mr. Ensign stated he would call me the next day with results of my CT scan. I called his office late in the next day when I had not heard from him and received a call back from another person, letting me know my results were incomplete and couldn't provide further detail. I would have liked to discuss the results with Mr. Ensign so I could have been given reasons why the results were incomplete and what that meant.

February 05, 2016

February 02, 2016

February 01, 2016

Very good experience

January 16, 2016

The whole experience was very good and went a long way in my feeling that issues of concern were carefully considered. I felt there was warm consideration and courtesy and I look forward to meeting with this provider again.

January 07, 2016

Craig is a wonderful P.A. He immediately puts me at ease. He is thorough in his examination and explains everything very clearly. He and the staff got me set up for a CT scan followed by an appointment Monday. I feel very fortunate having Craig looking after my Urological needs.

December 17, 2015

not much to improve

December 16, 2015

I was very impressed with Craig Ensign until I got the results of my CT scan through MyChart. It indicated I also have a 4mm stone in my left kidney (I was there to follow up on the one in my right). The test also showed some abnormalities, neither of which were addressed. I can understand him not bringing up the liver, since it's not his expertise/the reason I was there. However, I felt as a urologist he really should have informed me about the additional kidney stone. I don't know if he didn't look at the results closely enough or forgot but I really felt it was worth him mentioning, if I was not signed up for MyChart I would have no idea. Other then this incident I have been impressed with him. Easy to talk to and I feel like he listens to my questions and concerns.

December 14, 2015

High marks for Craig. His attitude, demeanor, explanations, guidance were all reassuring, and helpful . Thanks!

December 08, 2015

Craig explained the procedure and what I was seeing on the monitor. Followed up with symptoms to be aware of in the future.

December 02, 2015

Excellent.

October 26, 2015

Good

October 23, 2015

Ok

October 17, 2015

I did not have an appointment; none was avaliable. I had a possible emergency which needed a PVR to resolve; it turned out there was no emergency. The provider seemed to be concerned only with my worries, which were none; he couldn't seem to understand that.

October 08, 2015

I was not incredibly impressed with this provider or his clinic. I saw him twice. When I checked in at the front desk during my first visit I was not advised of any tests, procedures, etc. I went back and suddenly I needed to do a urine sample, and they needed to do an ultrasound... This clinic did a horrible job at communicating what was being done or why. During his first visit he did a fairly good job of advising me of concerns and an upcoming CT scan, and reason for antibiotic use. I was very irritated when he walked me up to the front desk to check me out though. I don't know if the Urology Clinic takes HIPAA concerns seriously. He told me to go back to the front office and indicated which admission person I should go to. He stayed behind the admission desk, in the patient area, and proceeded to tell her, in front of multiple providers and patients (both in the waiting room and in the treatment area) what my diagnosis was and what test needed to be scheduled. I sat there dumbfounded as everyone stared at me. At the second visit, I was shocked to find out that I was goin gto have a cystoscope exam on my bladder. I thought it was a visit solely to discuss the CT scan results. I was so upset I actually started crying. The last few "invasive" procedures I had I did not handle appropriately. If I knew I was going to have this, I would NOT have come alone.

October 03, 2015

very pleasant, very informative.

October 02, 2015

Very good

October 01, 2015

He was good but I felt that he was rushed. My PSA was up 5 points and he not only said it was expected at my age said even if I did get cancer I would die of something else before it killed me. Very frank discussion that I was not quite prepared for. He did to his credit take time to explain rectal exam.. He took more time on this exam than any other doctor I have had that has examined me. He did tell me of the abnormalities and implications. JUST SEEMED RUSH, NEEDED TO KEEP TO THEIR 15 MINUTE ALLOTTED MEDICARE STANDARD. AT LEAST I HAVE BEEN TOLD DOCTORS HAVE OR ARE LIMITED TO 15 MINUTES WITH A PATIENT. At age 75 this is the first time I have been to a Urologist, so I expected him to take more time with me.

September 01, 2015

Overall a bad experience. I was referred by my primary care physician to this clinic. I came in thinking my issues would be address, but all that happened was a 5 minute visit that ended in another referral. Before even being able to ask questions (my main concern was ongoing pain) I was pretty much ushered out of the room to the front desk to schedule a follow up appointment. I told the secretary that I was not done speaking with Dr. Ensign and had some concerns of pain and pain management, and was then told that he had left the building already for a meeting. I was then told that the physician he wanted me referred to was unavailable for the next 2 months and I would have to see a different urologist in South Jordan. I live in Tooele, so getting to the South Jordan clinic I was referred to is going to take me over an hour. I have two children that I have to arrange for babysitters for just to go to this appointment. Dr. Ensigns lack of questioning (especially considering my appointment was for testicular pain) about the subject and general disregard for myself during my appointment, and his obvious rush to leave the clinic for whatever "meeting" he had to attend was the worst experience I've had with a U of U related doctor. I had to contact my primary care provider with questions concerning pain management and will have to continue to do so until my next appointment (Sept 16th), nearly two months after being referred to the U of U Urology department. Not only was it the wo

August 29, 2015

I came in to get established with a urologist. My concerns were 1) a rising PSA for prostate cancer, 2) history of kidney stones, and 3) someone to go to if I ever have problems with my urinary artificial sphincter. However, the appointment focused on getting me to the HCI for my first problem, and I never did achieve my goal for problems 2 and 3. Looks like I'll have to come back.

August 23, 2015

This is my second visit to this clinic and I really trust Craig and the advice that he gives me.

August 11, 2015

great proffesionals

July 31, 2015

Dr. Ensign is professional and does a good job.

July 31, 2015

This was our follow up visit. Everything is all cured and we are happy.

July 14, 2015

I think I've beaten this dead horse long enough. I just want some one to know that wait times are not the most important. Having the care, concern, and trust from one's health care provider is the most important thing, at least to me.

July 05, 2015

Craig was great. This is my first time seeing him. He just seems like a really sincere, caring person. He did not make me wait, which I loved. He was really friendly and listened to my questions. I especially appreciated that he asked me if I had any other questions that I wanted to discuss with him, which I did. Then he took an additional few minutes to answer those questions. I felt like I got what I wanted out of the visit and then more. Quick and efficient, friendly and caring, listening and informative -- all really important things for me.

June 10, 2015

I was seen by a PA and he was very friendly, however, because this was a first visit back after 10 years and because the visit was triggered by an ER admission; I would have liked to see a doctor who could have taken into account a bigger picture. I can see a great role for PA in follow up, but not at the initial visit.

May 24, 2015

I didn't feel like I really knew why I had some of the problems I went in for. Other then that, your PA was outstanding, really have such a great staff at every UU med I have gone to. It surprised me.

May 20, 2015

Excellent experience

April 20, 2015

While the provider was excellent, I was expecting diagnostics. I already had and understood my diagnosis quite readily and it had been documented over and over. I was expecting diagnostics and felt like this interim step was a waste of my time.

April 13, 2015

excellent

April 12, 2015

good

April 03, 2015

Good experience

April 01, 2015

Craig Ensign is an outstanding PA in every way. He exhibits trust, confidence, broad scope of knowledge, and friendliness. What an excellent person to have in Urology.

March 25, 2015

HE WAS GREAT!!!!!

March 25, 2015

I do not fill that the care giver listens to what I say. He does not seem to listen when I say what my problem is. Keeps telling me what he thinks and does not touch base on what I say.,

March 19, 2015

No complaints.

March 04, 2015

Overall it was good, my only complaint was that I received no explanation of what my follow up care would be. I was scheduled for an appointment with a different Doctor and told I would receive a different kind of xray, but not explained anything beyond that as far as how my issue would be resolved.

March 01, 2015

I think my time with the PC was maybe 5 minutes. He asked them to scan my bladder and left. He came back, finding everything normal, and said he was giving my a drug. I asked about side effects as I have issues with drugs for my work, and he said it will be no factor. There was almost no dialogue. He didn't really present an option besides drugs. I just left feeling like it was overall a worthless visit, minus a prescription that it turned out I couldn't take and work. He seems to have taken on the factory-line doctor role, and it's sad.

February 27, 2015

Dr. Ensign cut me off midsentence multiple times and dismissed my concerns about what I was experiencing. When I asked for something to help with the pain he suggested Tylenol and ibuprofen. If those helped I wouldn't have made the appointment to begin with. It was very insulting.

February 23, 2015

This was my first visit to this clinic and I was very nervous. Craig explained everything to me and just what was going on. By the time I left the appointment I was very at ease with my problem. He was very easy to talk with.

February 23, 2015

I asked Dr. Ensign about increasing the dosage of my medication, but he didn't respond one way or the other.

February 14, 2015

It is always nice to know what your experiencing is normal.

February 05, 2015

I didn't feel that Ensign tried to understand the trauma and stress my kidney stone caused me. Nor did he have any helpful information on how to prevent future problems. Because I still have another one in me, I am truly scared that this could happen again at any time.

January 21, 2015

the care was great in removing the stints - not much information provided after that

January 20, 2015

Excellent Doctor, called back right away with lab-results, and explained everything thoroughly and showed great concern.

December 22, 2014

I always look forward to visits with Craig Ensign because he is a competent, warm and caring provider, notwithstanding his many years of seeing patients.

December 19, 2014

very friendly and explained what he was going to do

December 17, 2014

We were supposed to discuss how much the stone had grown and if it had moved since my last CT, we were also supposed to discuss my surgical options with the added complication of my rotated kidneys and my history of a PE...we didn't. Everything felt rushed and I left knowing no more than when I went in.

December 08, 2014

PA always seems in hurry. Assistant PA and nurse did a very good job

November 29, 2014

I had a positive experience when seeing Craig Ensign. I wrote about my experience with him on an earlier page.

November 29, 2014

was a good experience

November 22, 2014

provider answered all questions in a plain and friendly manner.

November 17, 2014

The care provider was earnest and attentive to my needs.

November 12, 2014

I was very pleased with my visit.

November 07, 2014

we haven't seen the results of the medication as yet.

August 19, 2014

he made up for all of it. it was a quick appnt we got right to the crux of the issue, discussed things. he too seemed to be rushing but still very caring and was glad he was taking my issue so seriously when frankly after all the runaround with the meds (not his fault) i was ready to just give up. was still impressed with his thoroughness even with the time constraints they seemed to be under.

August 12, 2014

Craig is the best provider that I've ever had! I wish he were GP so I could see him as a PCP. He's so nice and caring, and I believe that he truly wishes to help his patients. I like that he gives me options about my healthcare treatment plan and tells me what he thinks is best, yet allows me to decide what the next step is. This is the best quality about Craig. He's also very enthusiastic every time I see him and looks happy to see me every time I've seen him. I would not want to go to anyone else, he is the best!

August 11, 2014

Did not feel like I was listened to. Feel as though an irrelevant prescription was pushed on me and my concern of pain was completely disregarded. Was also told to drink less water, though I expressed that if I do not drink water, I get an infection that requires antibiotics. Never thought I'd have a Dr. tell me to drink less water.

July 26, 2014

Felt like the care provider listened to me better on this encounter than in my prior encounter.

July 22, 2014

i appreciated how instead of just saying yeah you can get off the medication and walking out, he took time to really listen to what i had to say and try to find a way to improve things for me instead of just ignoring them and letting me just deal with them. i appreciated that he took the time to research what would work for me and explain what might be going on.

July 19, 2014

doctor was very personable as was his assistant and nurse

July 01, 2014

Good.

June 24, 2014

Received excellent care .

May 19, 2014

He was very thorough in going over my condition and what can be done. It was a good experience.

May 12, 2014

Seems to me that providers in this clinic are too specialized, more interested in treating kidneys, ureters and such rather than people. Instructions for follow-up blood work at the lab were clear enough for me to get there, but instructions about and directions to x-ray were not adequate. I had to ask the lab technician about what to do/where x-ray was, got lost on my way and when I did arrive at the right place, the order wasn't in the system.

May 11, 2014

I still don't know what to expect after 2 ER visits with kidney stones and the stent. Should I have imaging to see if the stones in both kidneys are gone? I tried to ask, but I probably wasn't clear enough.

April 12, 2014

Good experience

March 26, 2014

Fortunately, this visit was an easy one...no serious problems. Craig is easy to talk to.

March 19, 2014

Good experience, don't have much to say.

March 17, 2014

good experience

February 24, 2014

Excellent

February 24, 2014

Dr. Ensign was cheerful and confident while helping me to feel comfortable about my procedure. He resolved all of my concerns with ease.

February 06, 2014

PA looked at his watch multiple times and seemed uninterested in me being there unless I was passing a kidney stone right then.

January 18, 2014

Visit did not concern chronic or acute problem - just a periodic test. Doc very relaxed and communicative.

January 17, 2014

I am very grateful for Mr. Ensign's care.

January 13, 2014

fantastic across the board, thorough and so quick to narrow things down and finally get something done that no one has found it necessary to do before right in the middle of my visit because he knew it was necessary i have never been more impressed with a dr. i appreciated his thoroughness and willingness to do whatever was necessary to finally get me an answer and really explain what things meant to me and what was going on and why at all times i felt very involved in my own care which i greatly appreciated as well as the extra time he took that no one has bothered to do before.

January 03, 2014

He read the old Dr. report. Didn't think that I needed to take the test that the Dr. had said I needed to repeat in 6 months. Referred me to a OB/GYN instead. I was really surprised. I didn't understand why he didn't do more. I thought he would at least do an ultrasound or repeat the CT scan. I wasn't sure if he had any of my medical history or not. I will not see him if I need to see a Urologist again.

January 02, 2014

the visit seemed to be a complete waste of time. No further information was transmitted either way, from patient to PA or PA to myself.

December 28, 2013

Dr. Ensign is very knowledgeable, friendly and confident. I am very assured of his diagnosis. Thank God there was nothing wring. Just me being paranoid.

December 20, 2013

both PAs were delightful and very informed on the medical questions I had.

December 19, 2013

Craig is a great fellow and very professional!

December 16, 2013

thank you

November 25, 2013

Ensign was spot on. Great PA. Knowledgible, efficient, listens and he answers questions asked.

October 21, 2013

the hole experience was outstanding

October 18, 2013

I wish the care provider would give me a game plan of possible cae options that might be taken pending the results of the next 2 months of doing the prescribed care activities. I would like to know wht the future possibilities are.

October 09, 2013

Good

October 07, 2013

No complaints. Very professional and able.

September 09, 2013

Craig Ensign is very good at what he does. Its an uncomfortable situation at best, but it sure helps when you have confidence in the provider.

September 04, 2013

Great !

August 22, 2013

Dr. Southwick is very knowledgable and easy to talk to about my problem. Would recommend him to others and already have... The hospital was awesome!!

August 05, 2013

I asked a few questions and he instructed me to go online and research the pros and cons of the procedure (vasectomy) I plan on having. He seemed rushed and didn't seem to want to spend much time with me. He explained very little and all of the information with which I left was obtained through my questions rather than him offering any degree of consultation.

July 19, 2013

Although recording high blood pressure for the third visit in a row, the Dr said I should see my primary health Dr, rather than dealing with it on the spot. Siloed approach! Also I went for a PSA follow-up, on the Dr's advice, and the crew thought it was for something else!

July 15, 2013

Craig Ensign provided excellent care...responsive, concerned, knowledgeable.

July 08, 2013

He said he would call me with the results of a CT he ordered, but never did. I assume that meant everything was all right.

June 25, 2013

Craig Ensign was friendly and reassuring. His approach to my symptoms was systematic and thorough. Craig was good at explaining the possible causes for my symptoms and did the proper tests to identify the cause. He made my two visits relaxed and informative and again was very reassuring.

June 24, 2013

Craig Ensign and his staff are superb!!!

June 17, 2013

Craig Ensign is an outstanding medical professional with superlative communication skills

June 17, 2013

I felt dismissed in this appointment. Craig focused on a single concern and the other issues were either hardly addressed or no concern was shown. For instance, I discussed my pain with the provider and the response I got was that sometimes pain is associated with my operation. It felt like there was no discussion about fixing the issue. I feel like I have to just live with the issue. Also, I was told about extreme treatment options without any investigation. It was unsettling.

June 04, 2013

Answered all questions completely and kindly.

June 04, 2013

Craig was excellent.

June 04, 2013

Craig Ensign is superb, and I am very grateful for his fine professional attention.

May 14, 2013

I was relieved that he addressed my main concern, but Iâ¿¿m still experiencing the same about of pain I have been for the past month.

April 17, 2013

As of this date, still have not recievied test results. I expected the results on my chart by now. Craig Ensign needs to follow through with this.

April 16, 2013

Craig was extremely helpful and explained things and helped me realize my situation could be controlled

April 02, 2013

Excellent experience!

March 13, 2013

Very good

March 04, 2013

Good Experience

February 26, 2013

There seemed to be a preconceived model about my condition and very little variance was given consideration.

February 25, 2013

Dr. Ensign acted like he didn't know I had two CAT scans. Never read a CAT scan report. Also told him of pains and lumps but was never looked at.

February 04, 2013

I will definitely return.

December 18, 2012

Craig Ensign is professional and empathic. Highly knowledgeable. Excellent listener and communicator.

December 17, 2012

very good

December 14, 2012

Craig Ensign was great. Took time to answer questions and make sure I had them all answered. Showed caring, was gentle, and very pleasant. I would recommend him to others.

November 27, 2012

great visit!

November 21, 2012

Good experience.

November 19, 2012

He isn't sure what is wrong and it's making me loose hope that we can cure what is wrong with me.

November 05, 2012

Excellent

October 08, 2012

Craig is very friendly and helpful. I just hope my physical well being continues to be easy to deal with. So far, no complications.

August 10, 2012

Just Wonderful!

July 07, 2012

Outstanding overall

June 30, 2012

I really liked the PA, he seemed confident and knowledgeable. I only hoped he would explain some things more in detail, such as the medication and follow-up care. I had only a little confusion on it.

June 26, 2012

6/20/12 I was terrified but thanks to the calming attitude and professional demeanor Mr. Ensign, my fears slowly diminished.

June 11, 2012

excellent

May 11, 2012

Excellent service, friendly and informative in language I could understand

April 26, 2012

Craig Ensign was excellent in every respect.

April 19, 2012

Have had the same issue for a couple months now, seemed like he didn't listen to me and was just ready to give me med's again.

February 02, 2012

The care provider went out of his way to explain why he was doing what he was doing.

February 02, 2012

I only wish the doctor would listen to me.

January 05, 2012

Overall I am satisfied with the service I received. My only piece of advice would be to spend more time listening and getting in depth. He rushed to a conclusion with little information. (He said he believes I had Kidney Stones, but I have no pain of any kind). I just wish he would have spent more time evaluating and testing, before jumping to a conclusion.
