Bio

Dr. Keenan received her medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency training at UCLA and her fellowship training in pediatric Critical Care at the University of Washington. While completing her clinical training, Dr. Keenan also completed advanced research training at the University of Washington (MPH) and the University of North Carolina (PhD epidemiology). Her first clinical position was at the University of North Carolina where she was in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Social Medicine. There she published population based research on the incidence and outcomes of inflicted traumatic brain injury in young children.

Dr. Keenan joined the faculty of the University of Utah in 2003. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care and in the Pediatric Research Enterprise. She has research interests in chid abuse and traumatic brain injury. Her current focus is on how child abuse pediatricians diagnose child abuse. As part of the Pediatric Research Enterprise, she mentors junior faculty as part of the Pediatric Clinical and Translational Sholars program.
