Cheerful Homecoming for Health Sciences Development Office

Steve Warner, M.B.A., CFRE, has rejoined the University of Utah Health Sciences development team as senior executive director of development. This is a significant homecoming for Steve since he led our Health Sciences development efforts until 2013, when he departed to serve a three-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Steve joined the U development staff in 1986 as its first major gifts officer and assisted with the $212 million Campaign for Utah, which concluded in 1990. In addition, Steve worked with KUED and KUER on their $8.5 million capital campaign for the Eccles Broadcast Center, and with Pioneer Theatre Company on their $2 million endowment campaign.

Steve served for two years as the executive director of the Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation, then returned to the U as assistant vice president for Health Sciences. In this capacity, Steve oversaw fundraising efforts for the Colleges of Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, the School of Medicine and University Hospitals and Clinics including Huntsman Cancer Institute, the Moran Eye Center, and the Eccles Genetics Institute. Under Steve's leadership, the Health Sciences development team helped conclude a successful university-wide $725 million campaign between 1995 and 2000. In 2013, the team successfully completed a $1.4 billion campaign.

Steve will be an integral part of Health Science's senior advancement team, focused on growing private philanthropic support to serve the greatest priorities, including the additions and renovations to the Health Sciences campus, and to advance biomedical research and health care in our region and nation. Please help us welcome back Steve to his alma mater.
