Heather George, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant specializing in family medicine. She completed her training and master’s degree at the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program. In October 2012 she joined University of Utah Health Care as a stroke rehabilitation provider. There she was able to integrate her previous experience as a physical therapist assistant in neurorehabilitation with treating patients medically as PA. Although difficult to leave such a rewarding position, in 2013 she transferred to the Stansbury Health Center as a Family Medicine provider to serve patients in the community where she grew up and lives. There, she enjoys caring for patients and counseling them in how to reduce their risk for cardiovascular events such as stroke.
Currently, she serves on the Tooele County Health Department Live Fit Coalition. Her professional interests include preventive medicine, obesity management, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. She performs a variety of procedures from simple skin lesion removal to large joint steroid injections. She emphasizes physical activity and good nutrition to patients whether recovering from stroke or simply working to live a healthier lifestyle.
In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and children playing sports, watching movies, baking and participating in triathlons. She is currently training for a half ironman triathlon.
“For me, exercise is medicine. I believe that in order to improve the health and wellbeing of this nation, we need to promote regular physical activity in addition to any traditional medical management.”
