Dr. Backman is excellent!

Dr. Backman comes off as very arrogant and when I asked about my condition further he didn't really answer my question.

Dr Backman was very good. He took the time to explain and examine me. I didn't feel like he was in a rush and that he was really paying attention to my concerns.

It's hard to believe that doctors like Dr. Backman actually exist. I was very encouraged by him to take my health into my own hands by continuing to eat right and commit to a more active lifestyle. I appreciate his commitment to preemptive medicene. He was very approachable.

They spent over an hour with me and I got to discuss all my concerns and questions.

I wasn't feeling well and didn't ask enough questions. Dr. Backman recommended I take Mucinex after I had mentioned to him that I was taking Robitussin and a Sudafed-like product. He didn't say to quit the Robitussin and Sudafed. I got home and couldn't figure out why to change medications when they all had the same active ingredients. The Mucinex worked fine on its own. Everything OK.

Dr Backman and team provide first rate care.

Dr Backman took excellent care of me, as usual. I always enjoy my visits with him, even if the procedure is painful. He takes the extra time to make sure that I'm ok.

We love Dr. Backman! He is always so willing to give us answers to our questions in a way that is not only informative, but it makes me feel more comfortable and confident in the conclusion. I love that he is always in "teaching" mode. My 3year old looks up to him and talks about him at home and some days says he wants to be a doctor like him. I think that says volumes about the kind of person he is! Thank you dr. backman!

It was hard to get appointment with provider. Provider did not explain that fasting was needed for blood tests (or that any would be taken that day) and the testing will have to be done again. I get the feeling that I am a number and not a patient or person with this practice. Provider does use MyChart and I think that is a good thing for my care and good involvement, but I'd prefer more personal contact and less automation.

Dr.Backman is a phenomenal physician.

I have recommended Dr. Backman to numerous friends and family members and will continue to do so. He provides EXCEPTIONAL care, and always makes sure the patient leaves completely comfortable with issues addressed during the visit.

I LOVE Dr. Backman. I have been seeing Dr. Backman since 2007. Even though my insurance has changed and I have to pay at least $100 per visit to see him, I feel like it is worth every penny. He is about the best doctor I have ever had. I tell every one of my friends about him. He is always professional and courteous especially during sensitive situations. He is a wonderful doctor.

I coulndn't be more pleased with the time, care and interaction Dr. Backman showed during my visit.

When I told that Physician about the disease I am dealing with, a chronic condition, the physician said: "ya well that's life." He was super rude and tried to play it off. I was a little surprised.

The physician I saw was very attentive, and friendly. He put me at ease right away. Again, usually I do not see male providers, but in this case, again, I felt very comfortable and listened to. His recommendation to treat my problem rather than depression (you did not really score high enough). was a good one and is working for me. He also recommended blood work and a bone density scan which at my age (65) was attention to my health that I very much appreciated.

Not only do I respect and appreciate the level of concern and compassion that Dr. Backman has shown me, but I have referred more than 5 family members and close friends over the last several years, because I trust him completely.

Dr. backman has been very good to our family. He is very knowledgable and does seem concerned about my family and i's health. When we describe symptoms he can generally finish what we are describing.

Dr. Backman is great, he listens and his bed-side manner is excellent.

SHe said nothing. I asked about possible reaction and she said that it will be ok and not to worry.

Dr. Backman is one of the best doctor's I've ever had. He has great rapport with patients, and he is very knowledgeable.

I honestly have nothing to complain. This visit was 100 per cent.

I also received a follow-up letter that let me know what to do (considering some change had occurred) and that was very helpful.

Dr. Backmann is always so genuine and great to see when I come in alone or when I bring my daughter in. He is hilarious, intelligent, easy to address issues with and overall is an excellent provider - I am grateful we see him :)

I waited over a month for NPV with Dr. Backman and it was worth it. I had heard so many good things about him from my family and other people at work in the U of U network. He prepares before your visit and makes you feel like you are a priority even though he probably has dozens of patients. He was very kind and spent a lot of time with me explaining and going over my medical past extensively.

Dr Backman is hard to get in to sometimes, but I don't mind waiting. As always he is the best! I enjoy my experience every time, even while getting a giant needle stuck in my shoulder.

Its so nice to have a doctor that my kids like so much, that they enjoy going to the doctor's office, even if it means getting a shot. They love the way Dr Backman interacts with them and makes it fun.

Dr. Backman is an awesome doctor. He took every effort to understand the problem and was so nice with the patient (Which I think is the most important quality for a family doctor apart from their knowledge). He listen to our suggestions and include if he thinks appropriate. Overall he is a great care-giver. He is a great asset to our health care team here in University of utah.

Dr. Backman is awesome! I never feel rushed- he spends as much time with you as you need. I also like how he writes notes on the dry erase board to work through each symptom/formulate a plan for care. He is prepared prior to seeing me for my visit- he already had some papers printed out for me to read and labs ordered.

Dr. Backman took a great amount of time to get to know us. We are new to SLC. We are very impressed with the efficiency of the "U" system!!

Dr. Backman gave me great instruction on how to prevent from getting diabetes and to reschedule my A1C test in 6 months. He was quite courteous and empathetic with my situtation, yet he empowered me by informing he knew I could continue on with an exersise program. He is my all time favorite Dr. and I will always refer my friends to him.

I am a patient of Dr. Backman for five years. I had a lot of health issues to address so I called the day before to let the staff know. Dr Backman took the time to find counseling resources that I could have done. He also wrote all my issues, on the message board, as we addressed them. This made the visit very efficient, & helped me by seeing what we had discussed.

I have been a patient of Dr. Backman's for over 3 years and place my complete trust in him. I had a troubling subject to share with him at this appointment and he took well over an hour with me to ensure that my concerns were addressed. I know I will always receive this level of care from him since he has done so previously with appointments for both myself and my daughter. I see a little wait from time to time as minor because he is hopefully helping his other patients as much as he helps my family! I did not select an answer for #5 since he did not prescribe any medications.
