UofU Patient May 07, 2013
It was great, he took lots of time for me to discuss my reactions to my current medication, to discuss future medication, and to answer questions from both me and my daughter. And in addition, while my daughter was talking with Dr. Zinkhan and me, one of the other staff members watched after my 2 toddler grandsons. This was all greatly appreciated. In my two appointments with Dr. Zinkhan, he spent more time discussing my disease with me than I had received from 4 visits with two previous Neurologists in other medical practices I had met with before coming to the University of Utah. I really appreciate it. In addition, the opportunity to communicate with the doctor through the message system is also greatly appreciated. All in all, it is great---I'm delighted.
UofU Patient April 30, 2013Dr. Zinkhan is excellent. I have been to the drs. up at the "U", no comparison.
UofU Patient April 29, 2013I am a premed student and Dr. Zinkhan knows this, so he adjusts his wording to me appropriately and uses more advanced terms. I really appreciate that.
UofU Patient April 23, 2013This was my frist appointment with Dr. Zinkhan but you would have thought I had been going to him for years. The way he treated you and explained everything to me made the process go so much better. After the appointment he even walked out to the waiting room and interduced me to the receptionist who was completeing my appointment who also was very nice.
UofU Patient April 22, 2013Dr Zinkhan was excellent. I had read some negative and some positive reviews about him, so I was prepared "for anything." Both my husband and I were highly impressed with his knowledge, willingness to explain everything concerning my condition, and follow-up. He even called me later with a couple of suggestions that came to mind after I left the office.
UofU Patient April 21, 2013great experience
UofU Patient April 08, 2013Once again, extremely impressed! For the first time I met a Doctor who was able to understand exactly what I was saying and knew exactly the right questions to ask me to get the right diagnosis. Granted, it wasn't a great diagnosis, but I trust him 100% and will probably continue to see him
UofU Patient April 08, 2013DR. Zinkhan told me that neuro-psychology would contact me within a day or two to schedule memory-loss tests. It has been two weeks and still no call, despite three emails to Lilly, who tried to facilitate the scheduling. I am baffled why neuro-psychology will not respond to Lilly's attempt to get the appointment for me. When the doctor cannot get the tests needed to treat the patient, why bother going to the doctor?
UofU Patient March 21, 2013Very nice.
UofU Patient March 20, 2013Everyone was very caring.
UofU Patient March 19, 2013Very Good
UofU Patient March 19, 2013Great Experience!
UofU Patient March 11, 2013Again, I was pleasantly surprised. This provider was able to address all of my concerns and explain details to me. He was quick, but did not seem to be in a rush or uncaring. I appreciate a physician who allows time for the patient to speak and is willing to address all issues. This physician explained all instructions in detail and even printed all necessary forms for the front desk to allow for quicker check-out for me! Outstanding!! The positive attitude of the physician towards his staff says a great deal about his overall compassion.
UofU Patient February 18, 2013all good
UofU Patient February 11, 2013I went to see a neurologist because of tremors and severe shaking, but the neurologist was attempting to treat my sleep deprivation and pain rather than address the shaking, which is not anxiety. I felt like my problems were discarded as nothing and other issues were addressed that I have other physicians already managing. I feel like the physician should have been interested in speaking with my other care providers to work as a team to manage my care and help me get better. I have enough doctors who try to work on their own and not work as a team. A team approach is much better.
UofU Patient February 11, 2013I am grateful for dr. Z. Dysautonomia is a difficult illness to manage.
UofU Patient January 21, 2013The doctor was excellent! I feel that I obtained more meaningful answers from him than from the visits I had on this issue in Twin Falls. Thank you!
UofU Patient January 21, 2013We were able to ask questions and get answers with good explanations. Dr. Zinkhan took plenty of time with us.
UofU Patient January 16, 2013I appreciate Dr Zinkhans friendly bed side manners. he shows appropriate concern and has a wonderful way of making you feel validated.
UofU Patient December 20, 2012He could of explained things he was looking for while testing me. I wasn't a 100 percent sure he understood the effects of the lack of spinal fluid flow could have on a individual. He kind of made me feel that some of the things I have went through was not effected by the chiari. How ever he did provide information on the size and the cut off for when surgery is recommend. He also recommend two test that I think should be done before I decide on the surgery and he was very caring and professional while doing this and even walked me out to the scheduler. I was impressed by this. Overall in comparison to other doctor visits I have had it I would rate him a 9.5 not perfect but very good progress for me in the right direction.
UofU Patient December 12, 2012Dr. Zinkhan is very good to work with and genuinely cares about solving my health care problems.
UofU Patient December 11, 2012Dr. George Zinkhan is a great doctor.
UofU Patient December 10, 2012This provider had to explain a couple of things to me a few different ways, because I wasnt understanding. In the past, if I didnt understand, I didnt feel comfortable saying so. I would just nod and say I understood. Not with this provider. Working with him in my care, he provides a different environment. I feel comfortable asking questions. And, with regards to question #10.... I HAVE recommended him to others several times.
UofU Patient November 27, 2012Dr Zinkhan is uniquely qualified and experienced to treat my conditions. Yay! It took 6 years to find him.
UofU Patient November 14, 2012LOVE this dr. Never had one who explained things so well, listens to what you are saying and shows genuine concern. Shakes hands with you, walks you out. GREAT DR.
UofU Patient November 12, 2012I was so impressed with my first visit that I have recommended Dr. George Zinkhan to my daughter, who suffers from migraines.
UofU Patient November 12, 2012Dr Zincken is the kindest doctor I know.
UofU Patient November 05, 2012I feel like depression is blamed too much for my symptoms, when they are really neurological and may have cause from something that has not been caught. I also do not believe all of the symptoms are from fibromyalgia.
UofU Patient November 04, 2012Dr. Zinkhan was very nice. He was patient as he answered all of my questions. He explained everything and made sure I understood. I felt like he cared and never felt like he was rushing to get me out of there.
UofU Patient October 24, 2012Dr. Zinkhn spent time with me, my husband and family members going over my disease.
UofU Patient October 17, 2012Dr. Zinkhan was great. Explained well and listened to my questions and concerns.
UofU Patient October 13, 2012Probably will never find the cause of the problem.
UofU Patient October 10, 2012I really appreciate the time and detail that Dr. Zinkhan spends with me and put in to explain and determine what is wrong with me. I feel like he is an advocate for me, where my previous neurologist was not.
UofU Patient October 09, 2012We found Dr. Zinkhan to be very thorough--wish others would have been as thorough. (Maybe they just didn't have the knowledge.)
UofU Patient September 28, 2012The Dr I visited with hadn't read the 22 pages sent with my background information. Either that or he had forgotten the information. I work at an Elementary as a school aide. Part of my job is some custodial where I get aerobic cardio twice a day five days a week I repeated this information more than once during my visit yet Dr Zinkhan repeatedly told me to get exercise three times a week. I told him that my job makes me hurt worse each day. I told him that I was interested in Tia chi or yoga. He put that on my papers as his recommendations. I had to inform him of my packet I had to fill out to attend your clinic. He looked over a couple of the pages , put the rest in a folder and placed it in a bucket type container by his side. I did get to look at my brain and it looked fine. I supplied the disc with my MRI on it. Dr Zinkhan was pleasant to pass the time with, he gave me a reflex exam. I had a very bad day that day and most of my muscles , especially in and around my spine were very tense and I was in quite a bit of pain.My legs were stiff and wobbly. feet were painful to step on. He told me he was referring me back to Dr Amann and that if anything else came up to call. He had blood drawn to test for b12 and another antibody (stiff muscle syndrome) It was negative as I have just found out. The assistant I spoke to today has been informed that I felt that Dr Zinkahn was not fully informed and my guess is that he hadn't had time to read the information. I had a devil of a time getting an appointment, making sure that the 22 pages actually got there(the secretary continued to claim it was received there, hence a total of four copies were sent) and then I drove for an hour and half to get to your building, using precious money I really cannot afford. I left frustrated and discouraged and unheard.I work very hard at my job, very hard at staying ahead of things. I have to write everything down because I forget things far to quickly. My quality of life is being affected and I have sort out professionals whom I believed could help. I only seek to understand and answers for my health issues.
UofU Patient September 25, 2012Dr. Zinkhan is a very kind, gentle and caring physician. Working with the elderly may be difficult for some; however, he is so patient and has a very easy manner.
UofU Patient September 10, 2012I didn't feel like he was really listening to me.... I would talk and he would just keep saying uh-hu uh-hu as he was typing into the computer. He was good about going over things with me when he was done typing before I left.
UofU Patient September 03, 2012He was personable but I felt like he did not listen to me or address my problem that I was there for. I told him 3times that I hadn't had a migraine in years yet he prescribed medication for migraines. He never really discussed the reason I was there for with the tingling burning pressure on the left side of my face including my lips tongue and roof of my mouth. All these things were listed on the papers at we're provided for review. It seemed to me he had his mind made up before I ever came in. I was very disappointed with my visit and the fact that I feel he did not address my concerns. He wrote a prescription and we were dismissed.
UofU Patient August 20, 2012The Doctor was the best i have been to in a long time
UofU Patient August 20, 2012Dr. Zinkan has brought a whole new meaning to the word Neurologist! Believe me I've met my share! He is the most comfortable, yet brilliant brain doctor I have seen. I had been seen in the hospital by a state specialist and required Dr. Zinkan telling me to trust his opinion, just because of his deliverance. I have already recommended him to people that I know use Neurologists! I will continue to do so. I genuinely feel cared for in his office. He went out of his way to give me extra care with injections that literally changed my functionality that day! THANK YOU!
UofU Patient August 13, 2012very pleased with the Dr. and my visit
UofU Patient August 13, 2012Dr. Zinkhan explained the EMG fully before and during the study.
UofU Patient August 13, 2012The doctor explained himself well and took the time to make sure I knew the answers to any of my questions. He even took the time to explain my test results not just saying they were good or bad.
UofU Patient July 24, 2012Very Good I felt confident in the care provided
UofU Patient July 16, 2012The doctor called me back to the room and started the visit with me instead of the medical assistant. This is usually not the normal. It was a nice surprise. He has been very cautious and paid close attention to the details in my care which is very im
UofU Patient July 09, 2012Although we did not get a dignosis, we get an idea of what I might have. I am looking forward to my next visit. My Doctor did not make me feel like I was crazy/insane. He did give give me some peace of Mind.
UofU Patient July 07, 2012I don't feel he really listened to my concerns and set aside my. concerns, then followed thru with the "medical" aspect of it. I left feeling disappointed and helpless.
UofU Patient June 29, 2012Dr. seems rather distracted and focuses greatly on the computer screen. But he attempts to fully answer all my questions.
UofU Patient June 25, 2012I live 8 hours away and I might just drive back to SLC everytime I need to see a neurologist
UofU Patient June 07, 2012I really feel he should have read the information packet BEFORE I arrived. He was not prepared at all to treat me because he didn't know much of the background. For the money it costs us, we were quite disappointed.
UofU Patient June 04, 2012Excellent and professional care received. This provider asked very thorough and detailed questions, and patiently responded to all concerns. He spent an adequate amount of time with me to get a thorough understanding of my condition. I feel very good about the care plan developed, and am optimistic about working further with this provider in the future.
UofU Patient May 04, 2012LOVE Dr. Zinkhan--very caring, friendly, explains things so well
UofU Patient May 02, 2012great
UofU Patient April 30, 2012This was a good visit but I am still reeling with the diagnosis of early onset Alzheimers. Somehow I missed that in my other visits with him.
UofU Patient April 20, 2012I am very impressed with Dr. Zinkhan. I appreciate the time he spent with me explaining about my condition I have, and how he involves his patients in working through to fix the problem. Dr. Zinkhan seems pretty comfortable not having to have all the answers and with his patients knowing that he has to research some of the information. I feel that less mistakes are made that way. I feel that he is very much an asset to the University and a great example for other doctors. I know this survey is for myself, but I have seen this not only with my visits but with my husbands as well. I have definitely recommended Dr. Zinkhan to others.
UofU Patient April 18, 2012good
UofU Patient April 04, 2012This was the single BEST visit either of us have had with a doctor!
UofU Patient March 15, 2012Our round trip travel time was about 10 hours. The doctor was unprepared for the appointment. I find that to be unacceptable. We scheduled this appointment 7 weeks in advance and everything that was done inbetween was at Dr. Zinkhan's request.
UofU Patient March 09, 2012I hope I never have to recommend this clinic to aanyone but if they need a great clinic I would highly recommend this clinic
UofU Patient March 08, 2012Dr Zincon is by far the most knowledge, calm, caring, wonderful, amazing doctor I have ever met. I would recommend him to everyone I know!
UofU Patient February 22, 2012Dr. Zinkhan was extremely personable and well informed. He was willing to spend as much time as I needed to understand my condition and treatment options.
UofU Patient February 06, 2012He called me after the appointment to tell me about research he had done and people he had called for further help.
UofU Patient January 19, 2012I appreciate the personal, direct, specific and fluent care that I am always given. This Doctor is rare for his breed. He always makes me feel like he is really listening. Although I realize he is obviously brilliant and above my intelligence level, he never makes me feel like it. I have already recommended him to several people. It's nice to finally have a neurologist I feel like I can trust. Thank you.
