January 27, 2017

I was given the facts for both sides clearly and concisely, and felt well informed to make my decision, I was never pushed or pressured to make a decision either way,my questions were well answered .

January 11, 2017

Dr. Burks listened to my concerns

January 11, 2017

Dr Burkes gave me a very good explanation of the surgery I will have and explained that it may or may not work. I appreciate his honesty in stating sometimes a surgery doesn't fix the problem

January 09, 2017

I know the U is a teaching hospital so I understand but it would have been nice if the physician could have talked to both the fellow and I at the same time. He talked technical with the fellow before explaining the issue to me and I felt awkward during that time.

January 06, 2017

Dr. Burks was very friendly and explained everything but his portion of the visit did feel rushed. We spent much more time with the NP and PA than the DR. I think for his sake he should not be so overbooked that he has to rush from one patient to another.

December 26, 2016

As always a visit to Dr. Burks is very pleasant.

December 23, 2016

excellent result, excellent communications

December 20, 2016

Good conversation

December 16, 2016

dr. Burke spent a lot of time going over x-rays care options and Associated pain issues highly satisfied with his care

December 12, 2016

Dr. Burkes was careful and thoughtful in diagnosing my injury. He gave me confidence in his skill and in the prospect of repairing my shoulder. I expect an extended recovery, but believe I will have my mobility back.

December 05, 2016

I really appreciated the time Dr. Burks spent with answering all of my questions and clearly explaning options to reach my intended outcomes. I felt very confident that he would put a great deal of thought into the surgical decisions once the joint was clearly in view. This was my third opinion. All three were very different. What really stuck out for me was he was concerned with not just jumping into a rotator cuff if it was not torn enough to benefit an invasive repair. The same was true for repairing the biceps tendon which was repaired but which will be a speedier recovery. I made the right choice.

November 11, 2016

he didn't have to dumb it down that far I have a doctoral degree (non medical but with technical and medical related undergrad work), worked in the medical field for several years, I also had a previous related injury so it's not my first rodeo. And I come from a family of medical professionals (Rn, md, epidemiologist etc.)

October 23, 2016

As always Dr. Burks is a very cheerful and friendly doctor. I have complete confidence in his abilities. It is nice to have a doctor that cares about his patients so much.

September 26, 2016

Dr. Burks was very attentive, and clear in his explanation of the problem, and options available. He presented as warm and caring, and shared his knowledge without conveying any condescention. I appreciated him, and left feeling confident that help was on the way.

September 26, 2016

rushed recommended another follow up

September 26, 2016

Dr. Burk's evaluations and explanations are always of superior quality. He knows how to 'think outside the box' to diagnose difficult problems.

September 25, 2016

Dr. Burks and all the staff were excellent in taking care of my concerns for my follow up after my surgery. Explained every thing that I inquired about. Very nice visit.

September 19, 2016

Dr. Burks has helped me many times over the past 10 years. He has improved my limitations and helped decrease my pain levels time and time again. I am grateful I have access to such a kind, caring, and expert surgeon. I have, and will continue to recommend him to friends and family.

August 30, 2016

These answers were for Dr. Burke. The doctor under him I did not care for. He was very confusing and went into these rants which were very hard to understand and my daughter and I had no idea what he was talking about. He spoke very fast during the rant and it was very confusing. I would not like to see that doctor again.

August 19, 2016

I highly recommend him to others. I really appreciated the very real assessment of my problem, the good and the bad.

August 15, 2016

Dr. Burks is amazing, and I am so happy with all he and his staff have done for me. They always listened to my concerns and they always showed concern about me and my progress.

August 12, 2016

Dr. Burks is great!

August 01, 2016

July 19, 2016

I have a good understanding of medical terminology but Dr. Burks showed that he was willing to describe a problem in layman's terms if that was what the patient required.

July 11, 2016

I think Dr. Burks is great. I have been his patient for a long time and he just understands mu personality and where I am coming from. I know that he does not have all the answers but he admits to this and is respectful to me and my needs. I think he is empathetic and understands that patients are stressed when they have orthopaedic problems. The ATC (Brandon?) I was very caught off guard when he came in asking about one body part and I was being seen for something completely different. This made me feel edgy during the rest of the appointment.

July 09, 2016

We have already recommended Dr. Burk to a couple of friends.

July 01, 2016

The provider didn't spend a lot of time discussing pain management with me during my visit.

June 27, 2016

I normally am not one to complain, but the Doctor who saw me seemed to have my treatment planned completely without even explaining why I needed it. I also did not appreciate the scare tactics used by the doctor in explaining what was wrong with me. If I did not have a medical background I would not have understood hardly anything that was told to me by the Doctor. The staff and assistants were phenomenal but I was not impressed by the doctor especially not on his bedside manner. Part of the time I felt more like an example and a lesson to the resident rather than a patient. I'm all for learning but don't appreciate feeling like I'm not even a concern. Lastly I appreciated the personal trainer I spoke with and got more information from him as well as the other nurses than the doctor. I appreciate the staff of this visit but will not be returning to this doctor.

June 26, 2016

I was disappointed that the MRI video was not there yet and I had to drive to Tooele Imaging to get it and drive back to the Hosp. My shoulder is very painful and now I have to wait at least another week to see the Doctor again to schedule my surgery. I'm not sure who's fault it was, but it doesn't help my pain. I'm sure it will turn out alright and I have complete confidence in Dr. Burks.

June 24, 2016

Dr. Burke was great!

June 23, 2016

June 21, 2016

You would have thought I was the only patient he was seeing that day

June 13, 2016

Dr. Burks provides clear, concise, complete explanations of procedures and risks involved in ACL surgery

June 13, 2016

Good explanation of diagnosis. No instructions or discussion on follow-up care. I was pretty much shown the door after it was explained why they could not perform surgery.

May 10, 2016

Dr Burks is tops.

April 22, 2016

I was reassured that my progress was at the expected pace, without feeling like my concerns had been brushed off.

April 11, 2016

My main issue is that I was told by one doctor that the surgery I was about to have was, basically, in office. Turns out it was full on out cold surgery. I also don't feel I was ever given complete information about recovery times or the possibility of needing physical therapy. I guess I feel I was not completely informed about treatment or recovery, pre-surgery, even though I did ask questions.

April 03, 2016

Dr. Burks has been excellent from start to finish, even discouraging unnecessary testing which I had thought was necessary when I had my initial consultation.

April 01, 2016

Dr. Burks is a wonderful doctor. He takes time to explain what is happening, and what I should expect. His personality is such that I feel comfortable asking questions, and he always provides useful feedback. I would recommend, even insist people see him. I am 6 weeks post-op, and doing well. I felt comfortable going into surgery with him and his staff, and am happy with the results thus far. He is a great doctor, and I am blessed to have him as my provider.

March 30, 2016

This was my 3rd visit with Dr. Burks and I appreciate that he is quick and efficient with his appointment. He did not however go as far as to show me my own X-ray nor did he address me when he came in, there was visible confusion on the resident's face. I would have appreciated just a bit more personal touch. I believe I was one of the first patients of the day. I assumed that he would show me my x-ray and healing progress as it had been 6 weeks since my last visit but I was confused as he closed the conversation and left the room. Once again I do appreciate his efficiency though

March 25, 2016

I appreciated being included in the decision - review of pros/cons of the options.

March 08, 2016

I felt ignored, interrupted, talked over and not listened to. If I could find a doctor with as good a qualification as Burk, I would change in a split second.

March 03, 2016

I felt that Dr. Burks examined the MRI very carefully and was very honest in his recommendations.

February 28, 2016

wish my pain could have been addressed; I was told I had to wait until I had a procedure before anything could be prescribed. This made the past two weeks super tough.

February 22, 2016

Dr. Burks always great. Resident more distant and not overtly friendly.

February 15, 2016

given how busy the clinic is, I didn't expect to meet with dr burks for that long - he was very accommodating and spent ample time explaining my options

February 05, 2016

February 03, 2016

Dr. Burks did a great job with examination and answering my questions.

January 25, 2016

Dr. Burks and his Resident were very helpful and kind. I appreciated the Drs. approach on surgery, he will provide me with as much information as possible, MRI, PT etc. to help me make the decision on whether to proceed with surgery or not. His straight forward approach was refreshing. Thanks for the great support!!!

January 18, 2016

Burks. Rocks

January 11, 2016

January 08, 2016

Dr. Burks and his excellent assistant managed this appointment exceptionally well. They are a superb team.

January 07, 2016

Dr. Burkes was able to get me in immediately (right after the visit) for a CT scan of my knee and then into see an orthopedic specialist (David Rothberg MD) the next day. I appreciated his efforts in facilitating these appointments.

November 12, 2015

Doctor seemed top notch. Worked quickly but I felt he was thorough and gave me his full attention.

November 08, 2015

Dr. Burks is an excellent doctor. He has great bedside manner and offers options to choose from. He is very thorough and explains everything so I could understand.

October 29, 2015

October 20, 2015

September 25, 2015

What can I say? High marks all around.

August 31, 2015

August 31, 2015

There seems a miscommunication between Dr. Burks and his assistant Brandon. From the beginning I was told not to do any exercises until I see Dr. Burks but when his assistant comes in he always asks how are the exercises going. One person says one thing and the other says another.

August 08, 2015

excellent dr

August 04, 2015

doctor and staff did an excellent job

August 01, 2015

I have some concerns of the preliminary report of no meniscus tear and only arthritis and degenerative joint disease that your nurse reported to me. I understand that it was a holiday but I never heard anything else. Then I find out over a week later there was some injury and a medial meniscus tear. No one followed up, and I will not have my first physical therapy till this Monday Aug 3. I started walking daily since I know exercise is good for osteoarthritis. I hope I haven't made things worse since I didn't know the whole picture. I have been very careful when I exercise and do normal things. It would have been nice and appropriate to get a clarification on the MRI rather than find out over a week later.

July 19, 2015

A friend recommended Dr. Burks, so I felt confident I'd get proper care.

July 17, 2015

Both Dr's listened to me described issues I have been having, without me feeling rushed, or that my time was worth less than theirs. Good bedside manner and professional

July 17, 2015

Dr. Burke is awesome!

July 13, 2015

Pleased with the care.

July 13, 2015

Dr. Burks explained my issues so that I could understand the problems and possible treatments

July 04, 2015

Dr Burks is my hero! He is professional, kind, caring and I relate well to him. He took the time to read and give an opinion on an MRI I had brought with me for my other (right) shoulder. I was concerned-- after a fall that resulted in repair surgery on other parts of body--that my right shoulder might have a problem. Dr Burks looked at the MRI images, gave me his opinion and the security I was seeking to know the fall had not created a long-term medical issue. He gave me conservative advice for treatment and I have full confidence in him if I find it necessary in a few years to return to see him for a second shoulder replacement.

June 15, 2015

Dr. Burks was very thorough in his explanation of everything he did during my surgery, he took time to explain my post operative therapy & why. It was nice to have a physician sit down and talk to me.

May 25, 2015

He listened to me, we discussed options for surgery, waiting to let the injection run it's course, then proceed with surgical options. He asked my opinion and my thoughts, I voiced my concerns and my thoughts, we agreed and came to a conclusion together.

May 19, 2015

I traveled 300 miles to see this physician and he did not take account to any of my history nor was he respectful about my films I presented or my existing problem. poor poor visit. I will not be returning or referring him to anyone.

May 12, 2015

Dr. Burks and his assistants spent so much time with about my shoulder pain and discussed what could be done to alleviate the pain. Dr. Burks was highly recommended to me by my best friend...he did her shoulder surgery two years ago and has been completely happy with the outcome.

May 08, 2015

Rather than giving me a generic answer to get me in and out, he spent time with me, gave me some options on procedures that could be done, presented an option of injections to see if we could pinpoint the exact problem and eliminate unneccesary procedures, I felt that he was genuinely sincere with how we wanted to approach fixing my shoulder

May 08, 2015

Dr Burks explains everything thoroughly and answers all my questions.

April 25, 2015

doctor and assistants were very good in explaining details involved with my pending surgery

April 18, 2015

After the visit, I was not completely sure what was wrong with my shoulder.

April 13, 2015

I was very impressed by the degree to which Dr. Burks listened to my input & questions and how honest he was about the uncertainty about the best course of treatment for my injury. I felt like I was given good informed choices and encouraged to make my own decisions.

April 03, 2015

Bob Burks is a genius and diagnosed a tough problem. He sought immediate treatment for me, and simply went out of his way to make sure my pain was handled promptly, and there was follow up treatment.

March 30, 2015

overall they were very helpful with explaining what was going on and including me in all conversations and asking plenty of questions to provide me with the best care possible

March 27, 2015

Learned about my condition well that made me want to know more better.

March 16, 2015

Dr. Burks and his staff are very good at treating sports injuries. I will recommend to any and all.

March 08, 2015

Didn't learn anything new. Hoped for an MRI or cat scan to see if I had other issues.

March 02, 2015

Dr Burks was happy to take the time to discuss everything and answer all my questions. I like that he sat down....made me feel like he wanted to have a convo and not be rushed. the only thing I don't care for about the university system (I get that it is a teaching hosp) is that you end up telling your story and symptoms to multiple people before you see the Dr and the Ipad quiz on top of that just seems overboard :)

February 04, 2015

explainations are in common language which is great - very much appreciated

January 27, 2015

Dr. Burks was fantastic!

January 20, 2015

It would have been helpful to have the results of my condition in writing. As it stands I know I have a torn ligament in my shoulder and I am still not quite sure which one.

January 09, 2015

The staff maintained my confidence throughout the entire surgical procedure. I will return to have any Ortho surgery without hesitation and will recommend Dr. Burks for any shoulder surgery. I very much appreciated the photos he shared with me via email from the arthroscopic procedure.

December 25, 2014

so far, I'm very pleased with my surgical outcome and my care from Dr. Burks

December 15, 2014

I had a very good experience with both the Fellow and the Attending physician. I did not feel rushed, and felt they were very honest and thorough. Very professional.

December 07, 2014

Every question was answered completely which calmed all my daughters concern and doubts, I could not have asked for more from a physician.

December 04, 2014

Dr. Burks is amazing! I will be back for acl sutn

November 18, 2014

Dr Burks and his staff has treated me extremely well. thank you. They are working hard to get me back to work as well. I will have Dr Burks operate on my other shoulder when the time comes.

November 17, 2014

Dr. Burks always does a great job. He really starts to warm up after years of seeing him. I think that he shows a genuine interest for his patient and does his best to explain all options and help you to come up with a plan that works for both his and the patient. I would recommend him and I definitely have recommended him.

November 17, 2014

November 03, 2014

I have never been more confident in a doctor or his staff. Every visit to the hospital I am treated better than anyone could hope for, very little wait time, great staff, and answer every question I ask. This is behond a doubt the best orthopedic hospital I have ever been to.

October 30, 2014

I did not understand his explanation because he used a lot of medical terms

October 28, 2014

The orthopedic center, staff and physicians were great. I was referred to the Neurology department, unfortunately, there staff was less than considerate and very much the opposite in responding to me. The staff from the Orthopedic Center have even tried to assist me with the Neurology department and getting things moving along. So I am very impressed with ever aspect of your care and how you have worked to help me.

October 19, 2014

Didn't listen to anything I had to say, blew me off

October 05, 2014

Dr. Burks and all the staff are great! Friendly, caring and informative. Thanks to all!

September 30, 2014

I have shouted the praises of Dr Burks to anyone who will listen. As I have told Dr Burks on two occasions that he is my hero! No one could have had a better shoulder-replacement experience than I have had.

September 21, 2014

I have had appointments with Dr. Burks for other problems and I very purposely made this appointment based on my past experiences with Dr. Burk.

September 18, 2014

Dr. Burks was wonderful. He explained what was wrong and what the next steps should be.

August 31, 2014

Dr. Burks is the best. He always takes the time to explain everything. He is very concerned about my personal feelings and gives me the information necessary to make my own decisions

August 21, 2014

Dr. Burks showed concern for me, thought seriously about what was going on and explained what he felt would be the best course of action always making sure that I understood that I was in the driver's seat. He is always kind and personable. I am very grateful to him.

August 20, 2014

Dr. Burks is great!

August 17, 2014

Dr. Burks and all of his staff were exceptional!

August 12, 2014

I was unable to get MRI at my visit and therefore left not knowing the nature of my injury

August 10, 2014

concerned and informative

August 07, 2014

Dr. Burks is an outstanding physician. I really appreciate his expertise and explanations.

August 06, 2014

Dr. Burk's sat directly across from me and discussed my option and answered all of my questions. Dr. Burk's provided enough time even though he was running late. I am impressed with Dr. Burk's thank you letter. He is genuine.

July 25, 2014

I had never had a cortozone shot in my knee before, so my expectations were not very high. But they took great care with me throughout the process. They actually exceeded my expectations in that regard.

July 21, 2014

All were excellent

July 06, 2014

June 16, 2014

Excellent care providers

May 24, 2014

The Dr, the Fellow, and the PA were all extremely helpful.

May 23, 2014

Both Dr Kullar and Dr Burks were focused, efficient, caring. We did not feel at all rushed, but felt both doctors were direct and explained everything fully. They did not promise an absolute and full recovery of range of motion, which impressed me since two other doctors had indicated that possibility. I feel totally confident of my care and made the decision to have my shoulder replaced by Drs Burks and Kullar before I left the Orthopaedoc Center.

May 20, 2014

Extremely happy with outcome and both physicians, Dr. Burks and Dr. Kullar. Very caring and professional.

May 11, 2014

Missed the fact that I had torn my ACL

April 24, 2014

I realize there is nothing having surgery would fix in my situation however, Dr Burke just more or less told me I'd have to deal with it, find a pain management care provider, and left the room. My wife had mentioned that we are very limited to care where we live and thought that Dr Burke would provide us with the next step as I am in severe pain. He left the room and we weren't sure if he was returning with maybe a list of Dr's that I could go to from here or what. We had to ask if we were done, waiting for perscription, list of what was next or what. As it was, we were done! Not happy at all with Dr Burke himself!

April 17, 2014

Exceptional service! Everyone was professional, efficient, and friendly⿦I felt confident in their knowledge throughout the whole process before and after my surgery. It⿿s been a placer having been treated by such a great team.

March 30, 2014

as both shoulders are bad, Dr Burks was very concerned as the one that wasn't the bad one hurt worse. X-rays reveled whymy right shoulder is worse now.

March 27, 2014

Very efficient office great staff.

March 12, 2014

Dr. Burks was great in explaining what the next steps for my recovery are and also answered the questions I had.

February 18, 2014

All good.

January 31, 2014

Dr Burks was very understanding and took the time to answer all my questions.

January 30, 2014

Dr Burks was very nice. He explained my problem and course of action in "English" rather than medical terms. He seems very knowledgeable and was extremely helpful.

January 23, 2014

The most important quality that gives me confidence in Dr. Burks is his skill as a surgeon. As far as I can tell, he did an outstanding job operating on my left rotator cuff. None of the other considerations are as important as that one.

January 20, 2014

Dr. Berks is the best.

January 16, 2014

Dr. Burks provide outstanding and expert care.

January 10, 2014

Since I have no medical background (which I probably should have stated at the beginning of my appointment), it would have been nice to have known a little more about what was wrong with my knee not only in the medical terminology, but also in simple terms. I think if Dr. Burks would have explained to me how my knee/ACL normally works and how it now works after my injury would have given me bit of a clearer picture of my condition.

January 06, 2014

Dr. Burks was great! He explained the surgery in detail, showed me pictures of what he found while he was explaining, and then actually drew me a picture! He was concise and his explanations were thorough and complete. He answered all my questions and concerns. I have since received a very nice letter from Dr. Burks thanking me for letting him treat me and for selecting the U of U. Great customer service from Dr. Burks and his staff for all of my visits. I would recommend him highly!

December 28, 2013

Very thorough and clear about all aspects of my injury, answered all my questions in detail.

December 15, 2013

Dr. Burks is a complete Professional

December 10, 2013

Dr. Burks was thorough in his explanation of each photo and what he found during the surgery, and my outcome.

December 05, 2013

I have already recommended Dr. Burks to three other friends.

November 04, 2013

I am concerned that I will be turned over to P.T. and will be forgotten about, I am still living with pain especially in neck, which I hope will improve with not using my sling any more, but what scars me the most is the pain in my lower back, when I have pain in the arm, shoulder and neck and back, and I wake up feeling like I am 100 yrs. old, I all seems to be related.

November 03, 2013

I felt very good about everything- especially the warnings given to my son about heeding instructions because the healing depended on it. He was very compliant (which is amazing for an active 17YO) and I believe that was due to the excellent information he was given before the surgery.

October 31, 2013

The visit was efficient and factual--just the way I like it. Dr. Burks covered the risks of any surgery, and the outcome of my procedure.

October 29, 2013

I would have liked a bit more information about recovery time and about the exact procedure I needed.

October 14, 2013

I am a bit worried about the outcome of my ability to perform regular tasks again, I am still having a lot of pain especially in the night, My surgery was 5 weeks ago, i do not feel as if I am healing correctly, but I have all the trust in Dr.Burks that I could have, I am looking forward to p.t. however I am scared because It is to painful to imagine in a week.

September 30, 2013

Dr. Burks is the best! Couldn't be happier with my results!

September 27, 2013

Dr Burks was great to speak to. He seemed very experienced and confident. I know I'm in good hands

September 23, 2013

I was respected and treated well by Dr. Burk. He took his time and explained what and why they chose to do the things they did to my knee.

September 20, 2013

Dr Burks and the resident on duty were excellent in answering all of our questions. My wife is a nurse and very thorough in asking questions. They provided explanations on our our concerns and gave suggestions for progression of physical therapy. Dr Burks is a wonderful physician that I will continue to refer all who find themselves in need of his services.

September 04, 2013

I have already recommended Dr. Burks to numerous friends and they have been very happy with him also. Dr. Burks always takes the time to explain all options to me and he makes sure I'm the one who is informed enough to make the decisions I need to make.

September 03, 2013

Dr. Burks could work on his bedside manner a bit, but he is a great surgeon for sure!!! My knee is doing amazing!!! As for his nursing staff and his anesthesiologist that was with me. AMAZING team!!! So caring to me for how scared I was. Trying to make me as calm as they could. Holding my hand while I was going under, and talking to me while I cried going under. :-) Being so calm with me when I woke up in recovery crying and passing out for an hour. That team is amazing!

September 02, 2013

September 01, 2013

I would not go anywhere else

August 30, 2013

Dr. Burks was not only on time, but spent a significant amount of time with me describing my problem and its solution in easy to understand terms.

August 30, 2013

I appreciated that Dr. Burks stepped through the analysis of my MRI and was forthright about what we could and couldn't tell from this. He was very responsive to my questions and concerns.

August 30, 2013

everyone was very professional, very kind,a nd very informative

August 28, 2013

Dr Burks, and his team, are the best!

August 27, 2013

I have been to Dr. Burk's office three or four times now and each time it is a very good experience.

August 23, 2013

althought the outcome of this visit was not what i wanted to hear the overall courtesy shown by dr. burks and staff was outstanding. i would have liked more options, but do understand my limitation since most of it is age related.

August 18, 2013

Have recommended Dr. Burks

August 07, 2013

Kind of wish I had more feedback on what Dr. Burks "thinks" is going on in my knee. Didn't have a lot to go off of, except for him telling me that it's up to me. Either live with it, or we can scope it. It made the decicion very hard, and I have been stressing over this. My surgery is still over a week away, and I still worry if I am making the right decision.

August 05, 2013

Dr. Burks is excellent. I trust him completely with the care of my son and his injury.

August 05, 2013

terrible bed side manner, could not have cared less

August 03, 2013

I did not agree with the decision Dr. Burks recommended for treatment. Nor did I appreciate spending 5 mins with him for an hour long appointment.

July 10, 2013

Way beyond very good.

July 05, 2013

I have already recommended this facility and Dr. Burks

July 01, 2013

Dr. Burks was rude and has a very poor bed side manner. He made me fell as if my issues were not important and that I was a waste of his time. He did not seem concerned with the issues that I am having and he just wanted to get me out of the room. He did not really address me at all he directed all of his comments to his resident and the nurse. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor at the University. All of the doctors that I have seen up to this point have all been very professional and wanted to see their patients feel better upon leaving. I am hoping that this Dr was just having an off day

June 10, 2013

Drs. Petrone and Burks are the best and they know what they are doing and kept me in the loop all the time.

May 27, 2013

I had the feeling that the Dr. did not want to do shoulder-replacement surgery on me as most of his talk was about the risks of this surgery. I don't think he understood how much pain I was going through and what it was like facing this for the second time. (tore rotator cuff twice in one year). I had scheduled an appt. with him because he had much experience with these types of shoulder surgeries so I was disappointed that he didn't seem very friendly or concerned with what I was going through.

May 15, 2013

While a busy man, Dr Burks spent as much time with me as I needed answering my questions and helping me make the right decision regarding surgery.

May 13, 2013

Dr. Burks is the best. He considers surgery to be the last option. I have already recommended some of my closest friends to Dr. Burks.

April 22, 2013

Dr. Burks is the best!

April 17, 2013

Burks is good.

April 12, 2013

Dr. Burks was so considerate with my injection phobia and made it so much easier to cope with and I am absolutely appreciative of his kindness and his follow-up concern! Thank you!

April 05, 2013

Dr. Burks was very informative and caring.

March 25, 2013

Always a very efficient but quality experience with Ortho staff and in particular, Dr. Burkes

March 22, 2013

In a mad, mad, world of unending frenzy the care provider's made you feel as though you were the only patient that they had to deal with that day. It really makes a difference in how you feel about your visit.

March 22, 2013

Dr. Burks and the resident were very businesslike, efficient, and communicated clearly. All of which I liked. The only negative was that no one asked me about my goals, preferences or concerns before telling me what the treatment plan was. I actually felt great about the treatment plan, but it still would have been better to be asked.

March 19, 2013

I am concerned because I fell last September 2012. The radiologist reading the MRI noted a "graft tear". Dr. Burks disagreed with this prognosis. I have spent the last six months trying to persuade the doctors there that something is not right. I have increasing pain. If the radiologist reads the scan how can there be a disgreement with the surgeons about the outcome of the reading. I feel like I have not been taken seriously.

March 15, 2013

I was extremely impressed with Dr. Burks on this visit. To be perfectly honest, I have met with him on days before where he has clearly been rushed (which is completely understandable given his profession, and because I am sure he has many patients with needs that are far more acute than mine!). In any case, I was extremely appreciative of the thoughtful explanations he provided to me on the challenges I have been having with my knee on this visit. I feel very confident in his abilities as a physician. I am fortunate to be his patient.

March 07, 2013

I would recommend Doctor Burks to my friends and family.

March 05, 2013

Dr Burks is a competent MD, but poor bedside manner and lack of empathy.

February 25, 2013

Both Drs Burks and Linford are great!

February 20, 2013

Dr. Burks is top notch! He listened carefully and formulated a plan that worked very well for me.

February 15, 2013

very good

January 30, 2013

It was the best that I've had.

January 24, 2013

I know that the doctor was very busy. He was efficient and courteous, but he seemed rushed. I would prefer a little more interaction on my first visit. He seemed to be an excellent mentor for his student.

January 19, 2013

I am never very good at processing the information I get from the providers. My medical vocabulary is fairly limited, so I don't follow the explanations, particularly when we're looking at the images from radiology, fast enough. I keep thinking I should record the doctor's explanations with my phone so I can digest them later!

January 18, 2013

Fantastic experience, very open, honest, and confident. Was warned he had no bedside manner... Rubbish, great guy!

January 14, 2013

I would have liked to be able to make a decision regarding the surgical procedure. I felt like I had no decision as to what was done and what was not done. I am worried that I will have to go back in for another surgery due to continued pain and weakness in my biceps.

January 05, 2013

All Very Good...

December 25, 2012

All Good...

December 14, 2012

Sometimes doctors are "above" we common folk and treat us accordingly. Not so with Dr. Burks. I felt that he had genuine compassion for me. He carefully showed me my x-rays and explained the issue and options. He did not push me into anything. He encouraged me to go home and think about them and discuss them with my family. I felt very comforted and comfortable with him. I felt I could have asked any question and not have been judged or treated as "less than." Dr. Burks and his staff were all very personable which gives a patient confidence to ask about things.

December 12, 2012

Dr. Burkes was a second opinion. He instilled immediate confidence, and I made my decision to have Dr. Burkes do my surgery before I left his office.

November 30, 2012

wont go back

November 28, 2012

I always feel like Dr. Burks gives me his full attention and answers any questions I have without talking down to me.

November 24, 2012

Dr. Burks is amazing all around! Very impressed.

November 16, 2012

Dr. Burks is all around perfect. He is an amazing doctor and very caring.

October 29, 2012

I spent significant time with both a resident and the doctor; both were fantastic.

October 24, 2012

Dr. Burks has performed multiple surgeries on many, many members of my family, with excellent results in all cases, and an incredible amount of care. He never talks down to the patient, but explains thoroughly his diagnosis, treatment options, and I felt 100% confident in his care.

October 10, 2012

Dr. Burks is excellent

October 09, 2012

He is highly recommended and that is why I chose him. He is a very nice and awesome doctor.

October 08, 2012

Dr. Burks is simply the best....he shows genuine concern and is always looking for the least invasive measures to treat a problem.

October 08, 2012

I was impressed by the amount of time that Dr. Burks and his associate spent with me. He was very clear, and took time to answer my questions.

October 03, 2012

The above comments are about the PA--Dr. Burks was "very good" in all aspects.

September 26, 2012

I liked his diagnostic approach and I trust his skills, but having me wait this long and acting as if this is trivial left me with a bad first impression.

September 14, 2012

Dr Burkes not sure what I needed until he got inside to look. I know this cannot be helped. I had to think about having the operation for a day.

August 27, 2012

lack of communication between doctor nurses and ma left me out in the cold

June 18, 2012

Best experience I have ever had..

May 15, 2012

Our case was not clear cut, and Dr. Burks spent a lot of time explaining our choices in treatment. He even drew a diagram so we could see where the injury occurred.

May 04, 2012

I had the doctor in mind

April 17, 2012

Love Dr. Burks and his staff

March 20, 2012

I felt heard and understand my problem better, he also discussed solutions to my problem and strategies to treat my pain, I am very pleased

March 16, 2012

Dr. Burks was great.......

March 06, 2012

The doctor and everyone else was very freindly and very helpful

February 28, 2012

It was a good experience.

February 27, 2012

Dr. Gave me no answers and I felt like there was something he was not telling me!

February 17, 2012

I will recommend Dr. Burks to everyone, he was fantastic. He explained everything very very thorough and was very helpful and kind.

February 17, 2012

January 24, 2012

Burks did an awesome job with my surgery. I am very happy with the results and the rate at which i progressed.

January 13, 2012

January 06, 2012

not particularily empathetic about my level of pain connected to the injury
