Bio

Keith Duffy, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and a Huntsman Cancer Institute investigator. Dr. Duffy's clinical interests include Mohs surgery (a microscopic technique that allows skin cancers to be removed with very narrow surgical margins), diagnostic dermatopathology (the study of skin diseases at the microscopic level), and medical dermatology. He is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as an Associate Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Duffy is a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology.

His research interests include melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

The University of Utah medical experience has been awesome. I would recommend them to everyone. The experience starts when you walk through the door. I have always been met by a staff member. They have taken their time to ask me if I need help in finding where I need to be. On my first visit that was extremely helpful. Since then I have always been met by a staff member asking if I need help. Great comfort and time savings. It has been a great experience coming to the University of Utah medical clinic.

I believe that the aftercare was not intentionally forgotten. We had gotten off topic and it slipped everyone's mind. However, I did call to find out the following day and waited for a return call, with none forthcoming. I had to call back a second time, and at that point after a several hours had passed, I had to get to work, and left home without cleaning the wound properly.

His research interests include melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

Dr. Duffy serves as the Laboratory Director for the University of Utah Dermatopathology Laboratory which is responsible for the processing of all biopsies within the Department of Dermatology. Dr. Duffy also participates in the selection of incoming Dermatology residents and medical students to the University. He is an active reviewer for several dermatology and dermatopathology journals as well as a reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Duffy’s research interests include the role of angiogenesis and specifically Lymphangiogenesis in malignant melanoma. He also has an expertise in pigmented lesion pathology and the appropriate use of Mohs micrographic surgery and clinical studies related to non-melanoma skin cancer treatment with Mohs micrographic surgery.
