Kids’ Activity Day at Huntsman Cancer Institute

Kids, teens, and their parents can take part in a number of activities led by our expert staff. We’ll have delicious refreshments, friendly therapy dogs, relaxing massages, music, games, and more! This event is free for all Huntsman Cancer Institute pediatric patients.

10–10:15 am | Check-in

10:15–11 am | Music therapy and speak with a social worker
Mackenzie Oprean will lead a “kids-only” music therapy session with lots of fun instruments. Jam to your favorite songs or even write songs of your own! Parents are invited to come together as a group to discuss their experiences with a licensed clinical social worker.

11–11:15 am | Break

11:15–noon | Child life session and Massages for Adults
Certified Child Life Specialists Abbie Owens and Chelsie Brown will tailor activities to kids’ and teens’ diagnoses, treatments, and interests; utilizing play and creativity to support emotional expression and connection.

Also, parents and caregivers are invited to relax and unwind with a complimentary 15-minute massage.

Noon–12:45 pm | Demonstration and snack 
Our dietitians will provide a family-friendly exhibition and sample of a spooooooky snack!
