Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Donna Branson Receives Service Award

Donna Branson receives service award

The Cancer Patient Education Network (CPEN) has recognized Donna Branson with the organization’s Distinguished Service Award. Branson is director of Patient and Public Education at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).

CPEN gives this award to members who make exceptional contributions to the practice and profession of patient and public education. It acknowledges the accomplishments and tangible contributions that promote excellence in patient education as essential to patient care.

Branson leads three programs at HCI: the G. Mitchell Morris Cancer Learning Center, community outreach and prevention education, and patient navigation.

"I’m honored and grateful to receive this award from my colleagues in the CPEN," says Branson. "I have been an active CPEN member for 19 years and have been mentored by many great cancer patient educators during that time. It’s a special organization that will always be near and dear to my heart."

Branson received the Distinguished Service Award on Friday, September 20, during CPEN’s annual meeting in Salt Lake City.

Cancer touches all of us.
